Aims: To analyse the histological structure and histomorphometric characteristics of human hard palatal mucosa in order to determine the donor site of choice for connective tissue grafts from a histological point of view.

Materials And Methods: Palatal mucosa samples from six cadaver heads were harvested at four sites: incisal, premolar, molar and tuberosity. Histological and immunohistochemical techniques were performed, as was histomorphometric analysis.

This case report describes the management of a crown-root fractured maxillary left central incisor. An interdisciplinary approach was used to restore the tooth due to the complex nature of the treatment.

Combined Endodontic-Periodontal Treatment of a Palatogingival Groove.

A palatogingival groove is a developmental anomaly that predisposes the involved tooth to develop a severe periodontal lesion. These grooves often present a clinical challenge because diagnosis and treatment planning require an interdisciplinary approach. This case report describes the successful management of a right maxillary lateral incisor with a deep palatogingival groove in combination with an extensive periodontal pocket and pulp necrosis of the involved tooth.

Behavioural aspects of patients with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) that affect their dental management.

Dental treatment in patients with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) can be complicated due to the presence of behavioral alterations. In this group, there are no specific behavioral profiles that allow dentist to anticipate the attitude that a patient will show during a visit. Thus, behavioral attitudes have been described that vary from total permissiveness and collaboration during even bloody procedures, to the absolute impossibility in conducting a simple oral examination.

Osseointegrated implants as orthodontic anchorage and restorative abutments in the treatment of partially edentulous adult patients.

One of the main limitations of orthodontic treatment in partially edentulous patients is the lack of anchorage to obtain desirable tooth movement. Coordination between the orthodontist, periodontist, and restorative practitioner is essential when planning treatment for these patients. Implants can be used not only in the definitive prosthetic solution but can also be of great benefit as stable abutments during orthodontic therapy.

Single implant-supported restorations in the anterior maxilla.

Achieving functional and esthetic implant-supported single-tooth restorations in the anterior region of the maxilla can be particularly challenging. Insufficient hard tissue can preclude proper implant positioning, while inadequately treated soft tissue will not exhibit a gingival appearance similar to that of the adjacent teeth. The aims of this article are to analyze the different clinical possibilities (standard and compromised situations) for implant-supported single-tooth restorations in the anterior zone and highlight the importance of knowing the biologic, anatomic, surgical, and prosthetic concepts, particularly the interproximal bone height of adjacent teeth, in the prognosis and predictability of achieving an esthetic result.
