Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of the Viking 3-dimensional (3D) system on performance time of laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Methods: Twenty-two patients were included in the study. The groups were standardized using a multiparameters filter (MPF) depending on preoperative ultrasonography and perioperative exploration findings.

Various approaches are available for the management of nodules that are evaluated to be indeterminate according to the results of thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsy. The present study aimed to determine the rate of malignancy and the ultrasonographic features that could be used as predictor of malignant pathologies at the nodules with indeterminate cytology. A total of 201 patients who underwent total thyroidectomy and whose fine needle aspiration biopsy results were evaluated to be Hurthle cell lesion (n = 99), follicular neoplasm (n = 61) and [corrected] suspicious for malignancy (n = 41) were enrolled in this study.

Unlabelled: Breast hypertrophy is a significant health burden with symptoms of back and shoulder pain, intertrigo, and shoulder grooving from the bra straps. Women often rely on surgery to relieve these symptoms, and they are mostly satisfied with the results. The satisfaction from surgery usually is evaluated by subjective measures.

4-(4-Methoxyphenethyl)-3,5-dimethyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole (3) was synthesized from the reaction of ethyl N'-acetylacetohydrazonate (1) with 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanamine (2). The structure of the title compound 3 has been inferred through IR, (1)H/(13)C NMR, mass spectrometry, elemental analyses and combination of X-ray crystallography and theoretical methods. In addition to the molecular geometry from X-ray determination, the molecular geometry and vibrational frequencies of the title compound 3 in the ground state, were calculated using the density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6-31G(d) basis set.

In this study, in vitro inhibitory effects of some saccharin derivatives on purified carbonic anhydrase I and II were investigated using CO2 as a substrate. The results showed that all compounds inhibited the hCA I and hCA II enzyme activities. Among the compounds, 6-(p-tolylthiourenyl) saccharin (6m) was found to be the most active one for hCA I activity (IC50=13.

Background: There is little consensus regarding the indications, ideal incision, or reconstruction method for prophylactic mastectomy. In addition, the biggest limitation in studies that assess either patient satisfaction or operation results is the lack of group homogeneity.

Methods: In our center, 21 bilateral prophylactic mastectomies, due to breasts at high risk for cancer, and simultaneous breast reconstruction using submuscular medium-height high-profile silicone implants were performed between 2008 and 2012.

A series of benzenesulfonamides incorporating cyanoacrylamide moieties (tyrphostine analogues) have been obtained by reaction of sulfanilamide with ethylcyanoacetate followed by condensation with aromatic/heterocyclic aldehydes, isothiocyanates or diazonium salts. The new compounds have been investigated as inhibitors of the metalloenzyme carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4. 2.

Full-thickness skingraft is a valid option to release burn scar contractures with the main purpose of correcting the induced limitation in function and improve the disfiguring appearance of the scar. The main pitfall remains the limited availability of these grafts, especially when large sheets are needed. We present an application of a previously described technique known as reverse tissue expansion, which permits the harvesting of a large sheet of full thickness skin graft when needed.

The term "fourth-degree burn" is not very often found in the literature because it is often associated with lethal injury. These injuries are characterized by exposure of viable tissue such as tendon or bone and are associated with challenging wound closure. The goal of reconstruction is to provide adequate soft tissue coverage and restoration of function.

Objective: To compare the frequency and correlates of sexual dysfunction in patients with Major Depressive Disorder on SSRI treatment with those who are not.

Methods: Patients diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, without comorbid psychopathology/medical disorder/alcohol/nicotine use for the past year with a CGI-S severity score of 4 were included. Two groups were formed, one using SSRIs at least for 6 weeks before the study, and another who were free of drugs for the last month.

Background: A slightly convex forehead without wrinkles adds attractiveness to a woman's face and to the general perceived image. It is also important for the balance and harmony of the face, especially in the lateral and oblique views. We used a new fat injection technique for correction of the contours of the forehead.

Bone marrow-derived human mesenchymal stem cells (BM-hMSCs) represent a promising cell-based therapy for a number of degenerative conditions. Many applications require cell expansion and involve the treatment of diseases and conditions found in an aging population. Therefore, the effects of donor age and long-term passage must be clarified.
