This systematic review aimed to explore the efficacy of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions in managing hypertension during pregnancy. It analyzed high-quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs), focusing on outcomes related to maternal and fetal health. The findings demonstrated that antihypertensive medications, particularly labetalol and nifedipine, effectively reduced the risks of severe preeclampsia (PE), preterm birth, and other complications.

Plants are the rich source of biologically active compounds which can be obliging against various pathogenic microorganisms and cancerous diseases. The current study evaluated the antibacterial potential of aqueous, methanol, ethanol, and acetone extracts of Malus domestica (apple), Cinnamomum verum (cinnamon) and Trachyspermum ammi (ajwain) via agar well diffusion methods and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) in (mm) against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923) and Salmonella typhi (ATCC 19430). The antioxidant properties including total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), DPPH and reducing power was determined by UV/VIS spectrophotometery and all the results interpreted through one way ANOVA (STATISTICA).

Soils are a major player in the global carbon (C) cycle and climate change by functioning as a sink or a source of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO). The largest terrestrial C reservoir in soils comprises two main pools: organic (SOC) and inorganic C (SIC), each having distinct fates and functions but with a large disparity in global research attention. Terminal nucleotidyltransferases (TENTs) could generate a 'mixed tail' or 'U-rich tail' consisting of different nucleotides at the 3' end of RNA by non-templated nucleotide addition to protect or degrade cellular messenger RNA. Recently, there has been increasing evidence that the decoration of virus RNA terminus with a mixed tail or U-rich tail is a critical way to affect viral RNA stability in virus-infected cells. This paper first briefly introduces the cellular function of the TENT family and non-canonical tails, then comprehensively reviews their roles in virus invasion and antiviral immunity, as well as the significance of the TENT family in antiviral therapy.

We report the synthesis and characterization of various compounds containing the 1,7,9-hydroxylated -dodecahydrododecaborate (BH(OH)) cluster motif. Specifically, we show how the parent compound can be synthesized on the multigram scale and further perhalogenated, leading to a new class of vertex-differentiated weakly coordinating anions. We show that a postmodification of the hydroxyl groups by alkylation affords further opportunities for tailoring these anions' stability, steric bulk, and solubility properties.
