(1) Background: Obesity in the perimenopausal period is associated with hormonal changes, lifestyle, and environment. In obesity, elevated levels of IL-6 and TNF-α and reduced levels of adiponectin are observed, and the associated chronic inflammation favors the development of cardiometabolic diseases. Therefore, the aim of our study was to assess the relationship between selected measures of obesity (BMI, WC, RFM, VAI, WHtR) and parameters of chronic inflammation (CRP, TNF-α, IL-6) in perimenopausal women.

We present a case of 35-year old left-handed woman with recurrent giant-cell tumour affecting 1/4 of the distal part of the left ulna, with associated ulnar nerve involvement. After resection of the tumour and 1 cm of the ulnar nerve, the distal ulna was reconstructed with an individually designed and matched prosthesis, followed by ulnar nerve reconstruction. At 12 months follow-up the patients was free of pain, had excellent recovery of ulnar nerve function, satisfactory wrist range of motion and moderately impaired function of the left hand (DASH score 42).

To date, no optimal treatment of these fractures was determined, although in the past twenty years an increased tendency to operative treatment with stable plate fixation is observed. Authors personal observations indicate a common malpractice associated with treatment of these fractures in our country, resulting from unjustified acceptance of some false preconceptions.

A series of 54 patients is presented in which full-thickness soft-tissue defects on 57 digits were reconstructed using homodigital V-Y flaps. This is a modification of the Moberg procedure, which was designed for coverage of injuries of distal thumb. The V-Y flap is pedicled on two digital neurovascular bundles, possible advancement is up to 2 cm, and V-shaped base of the flap allows direct closure of the proximal defect, without skin grafting.
