Background: Liposarcoma is one of the most common soft tissue sarcomas in adults, but it is exceedingly rare in the gastrointestinal tract. To the authors' knowledge, only 17 cases of esophageal liposarcomas have been described in the literature.
Case Report: The case of a 56-year-old woman is reported who complained of dyspnea and airway obstruction and was referred for multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) with the suspicion of mediastinal tumor.

Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a common and still difficult clinical problem. On autopsy, PE is diagnosed in 15-25% of hospital deaths, intravitally the diagnosis is reached in only 1/3 of cases. An early diagnosis and antithrombotic treatment decreases the mortality rate from 30 to 2-10%.
