Optimized Continuity of Care Report on Nursing Compliance and Review: A Retrospective Study.

The Continuity of Care Report (CCR) is a fundamental document for ensuring high-quality healthcare and a smooth transition between different levels of care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of optimizing the CCR to improve its completion rate by hospital nurses and its review by primary care nurses. To achieve this, a retrospective observational study was conducted on patients discharged from the University Hospital of La Plana de Vila-real during two three-month periods, one prior to the CCR improvement (2022) and one after (2023).

Monitoring of the Main Reasons for Early Abandonment of Breastfeeding during the First Six Months of Life: A Secondary Analysis.

The rate of six-month-old infants exclusively breastfed in Spain remains below the recommended rate. This study aimed to explore in detail the evolution of feeding during the first six months of life of a group of newborns, as well as to identify the reasons reported by the mothers for feeding change. A secondary analysis of two prospective longitudinal observational studies was conducted.

Development and validation of meta-measurement instruments: A methodological approach.

A valid and reliable nursing assessment is essential for identifying required care and ensuring patient safety. The convenience of conducting a comprehensive assessment of the patient has led to a significant increase in assessment tools that may slow down the process. Nevertheless, the possibility of consolidating various instruments that measure common or similar constructs into a meta-instrument is considered an alternative that could enhance assessment efficiency.

Nomophobia and Its Relationship with Social Anxiety and Procrastination in Nursing Students: An Observational Study.

Unlabelled: Nomophobia is a phenomenon that describes the fear of not having one's mobile phone accessible. This study aimed to evaluate the presence of nomophobia among nursing students as well as its relationship with procrastination and social anxiety.

Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in a sample of 308 nursing students.

Diagnostic accuracy study of the VALENF instrument in hospitalization units for adults: a study protocol.

Recently, the VALENF instrument, Nursing Assessment by its acronym in Spanish, was developed as a meta-tool composed of only seven items with a more parsimonious approach for nursing assessment in adult hospitalization units. This meta-tool integrates the assessment of functional capacity, the risk of pressure injuries and the risk of falls. The general objective of this project is to validate the VALENF instrument by studying its diagnostic accuracy against the instruments commonly used in nursing to assess functional capacity, the risk of pressure injuries and the risk of falls.

Improving Nursing Assessment in Adult Hospitalization Units: A Secondary Analysis.

The main objective of this study was to analyze the impact of a multifaceted strategy to improve the assessment of functional capacity, risk of pressure injuries, and risk of falls at the time of admission of patients in adult hospitalization units. This was a secondary analysis of the VALENF project databases during two periods (October-December 2020, before the strategy, and October-December 2021, after the strategy). The quantity and quality of nursing assessments performed on patients admitted to adult hospitalization units were evaluated using the Barthel index, Braden index, and Downton scale.

Objective: Examine the construct validity of the Barthel Index in adult inpatient units.

Method: A secondary analysis was performed on a sample of 1342 adult patients admitted to inpatient units. A confirmatory factor analysis of the Barthel Index did not confirm its unidimensional structure (CFA-1).

This article presents the psychometric properties of the VALENF Instrument, a recently developed meta-instrument with only seven items that integrates the assessment of functional capacity, risk of pressure injuries and risk of falls with a more parsimonious approach to nursing assessment in adult hospitalization units. A cross-sectional study based on recorded data in a sample of 1352 nursing assessments was conducted.
