Furthermore, we investigated the underlying neural dynamics to determine whether these two behaviorally similar influences share their neural mechanisms.

Intraprocedural, Intra-Arterial CT Foot Perfusion Examination for Assessment of Endovascular Therapy in Patients With Critical Limb Ischemia: A Prospective Pilot Study.

Background: Current techniques to evaluate computed tomography (CT) foot perfusion in patients with critical limb ischemia use high contrast doses and cannot be used during endovascular procedures. CT perfusion of the foot with intra-arterial contrast injection during endovascular treatment in a hybrid angiography CT suite might solve these problems.

Purpose: The main objective of this study was to evaluate whether intra-arterial CT foot perfusion using a hybrid CT angiosystem is feasible during endovascular treatment for critical limb ischemia.

The Role of Drug-Coated Balloon in Haemodialysis Arteriovenous Fistula Stenosis Management.

Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) stenosis is a common problem leading to dialysis access dysfunction. The conventional balloon (CB) is the most commonly used device during angioplasty but suffers from poor durability of results due to neointimal hyperplasia-mediated recurrence. The drug-coated balloon (DCB) is an adjunct to balloon angioplasty that reduces neointimal hyperplasia, thereby improving post-angioplasty patency.

A novel non-word speech preparation task to increase stuttering frequency in experimental settings for longitudinal research.

Purpose: The variable and intermittent nature of stuttering makes it difficult to consistently elicit a sufficient number of stuttered trials for longitudinal experimental research. This study tests the efficacy of using non-word pairs that phonetically mimic English words with no associated meaning, to reliably elicit balanced numbers of stuttering and fluent trials over multiple sessions. The study also evaluated the effect of non-word length on stuttering frequency, the consistency of stuttering frequency across sessions, and potential carry-over effects of increased stuttering frequency in the experimental task to conversational and reading speech after the task.

A cross-sectional investigation of disfluencies in typically developing Spanish-English bilingual children.

Purpose: This study examined the language skills and the type and frequency of disfluencies in the spoken narrative production of typically developing Spanish-English bilingual children.

Method: A cross-sectional sample of 106 bilingual children (50 boys; 56 girls) enrolled in kindergarten through Grade 4, produced a total of 212 narrative retell language samples in English and Spanish. A specialized fluency coding system was implemented to index the percentage of total (%TD) and stuttering-like disfluencies (%SLD) in each language.

Given the need for increased equity, justice, and inclusion in neuropsychology, this paper aimed to present an initial perspective on key areas of understanding necessary to provide ethically and culturally responsive services and training to Asians and Asian Americans. We first reviewed the terms Asian and Asian American and established the large multitude of individuals these terms encompass. Second, a brief review of the foundations for Asian American psychology is provided to set the stage for the unique considerations when evaluating individuals of Asian descent.

CIRSE Standards of Practice on Oesophageal and Gastroduodenal Stenting.

Background: Image-guided insertion of stents in the upper gastrointestinal trunk is an effective, minimally invasive treatment option to provide immediate relief of symptoms caused by upper gastrointestinal tract obstruction related to advanced-stage malignant causes or benign causes that lead to lumen narrowing.

Purpose: This document, as with all CIRSE Standards of Practice documents, is not intended to impose a standard of clinical patient care but will recommend a reasonable approach to best practices for performing stenting of the upper gastrointestinal tract, namely the oesophageal and gastroduodenal segments. Our purpose is to provide up-to-date recommendations for placement of upper gastrointestinal tract stents based on the previously published guidelines on this topic in 2005 and 2007.

Language and Acculturation: Neuropsychological Sequalae of COVID-19 in Indian Americans.

Coronavirus 2019 (SARS-CoV-2; COVID-19) has significant mental health and neuropsychological consequences, but data are insufficient on these specific implications of COVID-19, especially for Indian American patients. Few studies have critically explored risk factors and neuropsychological assessment considerations from a cultural and linguistic perspective, including how they impact the evaluation process for Indian Americans. The present paper focuses on cultural and linguistic considerations for case conceptualization, ethical challenges for best practices, and a specific example with a middle-aged Indian American woman.

Background: A textbook outcome (TO) is a composite indicator covering the entire intervention process in order to reflect the "ideal" intervention and be a surrogate for patient important outcomes. Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) is a complex multidisciplinary and multistep intervention facing the challenge of standardization. This expert opinion-based study aimed to define a TO for SIRT of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Objective: The Asian Neuropsychological Association (ANA) is a recently established cultural identity-based organization with the mission to ensure accessibility and provision of culturally sensitive neuropsychological services for individuals of Asian descent. One of ANA's programmatic goals has been to foster a pipeline of neuropsychologists through mentoring and networking. In this paper, we aim to understand the historical context as well as unique considerations that are relevant for mentoring in the Asian American community.

A key goal of cognitive neuroscience is to better understand how dynamic brain activity relates to behavior. Such dynamics, in terms of spatial and temporal patterns of brain activity, are directly measured with neurophysiological methods such as EEG, but can also be indirectly expressed by the body. Autonomic nervous system activity is the best-known example, but, muscles in the eyes and face can also index brain activity.

Cost-Effectiveness of Drug-Coated Balloon Angioplasty Compared With Conventional Balloon Angioplasty for Arteriovenous Access Flow Dysfunction.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the cost-effectiveness of drug-coated balloon (DCB) angioplasty compared with conventional balloon angioplasty (cPTA) in patients with arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) and arteriovenous grafts (AVGs) dysfunction from a Singapore healthcare perspective.

Methods: Existing cost-effectiveness studies comparing DCB and cPTA have not incorporated AVF/AVG abandonment costs. This Markov model-based economic evaluation incorporated AVF/AVG creation and maturation costs on top of routine intervention costs to model a hypothetical cohort of 60-year-old AVF/AVG flow dysfunction patients.

Awareness of non-communicable diseases in women: a cross-sectional study.

Chronic non-communicable diseases (NCD) are the major reason for death, morbidity, loss of independency and public health cost. NCD prevalence could be significantly reduced by adopting a healthy lifestyle. This cross-sectional cohort study (online survey) in 221 women aimed to assess NCD awareness, knowledge about NCD prevention and willingness to adopt a healthier lifestyle in women.

Cost-Effectiveness of Drug-Coated Balloon Angioplasty Versus Conventional Balloon Angioplasty for Treating Below-the-Knee Arteries in Chronic Limb-Threatening Ischemia: The SINGA-PACLI Trial.

Purpose: Drug-coated balloon angioplasty (DCBA) has been studied as a potentially superior option compared to conventional percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) in treating below-the-knee (BTK) arteries in chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI). The aim of this study is to examine the cost-effectiveness of DCBA versus PTA in BTK arteries based on a randomized controlled trial.
