Exploration of plant growth promoting traits and regulatory mechanisms of Bacillus anthracis PM21 in enhancing salt stress tolerance in maize.

Bacillus species have been reported to reduce the negative effects of salt stress on plants; the involvement of Bacillus anthracis PM21 and the internal mechanisms involved in this process are unclear. The effects of PM21 inoculation on maize plants under salt stress were investigated in this study. The study aimed to assess the ability of Bacillus anthracis PM21 to endure high levels of salinity stress while preserving the concentration of plant growth regulators.

Influence of lipid composition on the structural stability of g-protein coupled receptor.

β2 Adrenergic receptor (β2AR) is a kind of G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) which transduce a wide range of extracellular signals into intracellular messages responsible for the regulation of diverse cell functions. Because of their functional ubiquity, GPCR is one of the most important drug targets in pharmaceutical industry. Although recent crystallographic studies provided both the active and the inactive states of some families of GPCRs, the influence of lipid composition of bilayer membrane on their activation is still poorly understood.

Effect of mother-infant early skin-to-skin contact on breastfeeding status: a randomized controlled trial.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of mother-infant early skin-to-skin contact on breastfeeding behavior of infants.

Study Design: A randomized controlled trial.

Place And Duration Of Study: The study was conducted in the Department of Obstetrics of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad, from November to December 2009.
