Evidence of circulating recombinants between deformed wing virus and virus-1 in honey bee colonies in Türkiye.

Deformed wing virus (DWV), which is an important honey bee virus transmitted by , causes colony losses in honey bee colonies. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and genetic diversity of DWV in honey bees in Türkiye and to determine the role of in the transmission of the genetic variants of DWV. Honey bee samples were collected from 62 apiaries, by simple random sampling, during March 2022 and April 2023.

The First Case of (Neumann, 1912) (Phthiraptera: Amblycera: Menoponidae) on A Chicken ( Linnaeus, 1758) in Türkiye.

This case report was prepared to provide information about (Neumann, 1912), which was detected for the first time on a domestic chicken in Hatay province of Türkiye. Louse specimens collected from a chicken by a student were brought to Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Parasitology, and sent to Selçuk University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Parasitology, for identification of species and microscopic examination revealed the presence of (Neumann, 1912). Thus, with this study, the presence of on domestic chickens was recorded for the first time in Türkiye.

Molecular investigation of Haemoproteus and Plasmodium species of some raptors in Hatay province: new CytB lineages for raptors of Accipitriformes in Turkey.

Accipitriform raptors are significant indicators of biodiversity and environmental health. Currently, most of the studies on avian haemosporidian parasites are on passerine birds, and data on raptors is constricted, with similarities both around the world and in Turkey. This study aimed to investigate the presence of Haemoproteus and Plasmodium spp.

Lower extremity proprioception and its association with activity and participation in children with unilateral spastic cerebral palsy.

Objective: This cross-sectional study aimed to assess lower extremity proprioception and investigate its relationship to activity and participation levels in children with unilateral spastic cerebral palsy (USCP).

Methods: A total of 22 children with USCP between the ages of 5 and 16 years participated in this study. Lower extremity proprioception was evaluated with a protocol that consisted of verbal and location identification, unilateral and contralateral limb matching, and static and dynamic balance tests performed with the impaired and less impaired lower extremities under eyes-open and eyes-closed conditions.

The utility of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio determined at initial diagnosis in predicting disease stage and discriminating between active and stable disease in patients with sarcoidosis: a cross-sectional study.

Objective: To evaluate the utility of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) determined at initial diagnosis in predicting advanced disease stage and discriminating between active and stable disease in sarcoidosis.

Methods: A total of 465 patients with biopsy-proven sarcoidosis (age: 47 years, 70.5% females) were included in this retrospective cross-sectional study.

Endobronchial Mucosal Neuroma with Sarcoidosis.

A first case of endobronchial mucosal neuroma with sarcoidosis is hereby reported. A 67-year female patient, who was diagnosed as sarcoidosis previously, was admitted to our hospital with symptoms of dyspnea, chest pain and fatigue. Middle lobe atelectasis and endobronchial lesion were observed in thorax computed tomography (CT).

Hospital Treatment Costs and Factors Affecting These Costs in Community-Acquired Pneumonia.

Objectives: Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) accounts for an important part of hospital admissions and health expenses worldwide. The cost increases when treated in a hospital, and reports on this issue are limited in Turkey. This study aimed to investigate direct hospital costs and factors affecting these costs for patients who were hospitalized in our clinic because of the diagnosis of CAP.
