Our samples are agglomerates made of glass beads bonded with a few percent of cement, either ductile or brittle. These cemented granular samples exhibit an inelastic compaction beyond certain axial stresses likely due to the formation of compaction bands, which is accompanied by a significant decrease of compressional wave velocity.

Methods: Test-negative design estimated VE against laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection ≥14 days after vaccination among 12-17-year-olds in Quebec and British Columbia, Canada, between 5 September 2021 and 30 April 2022 (epidemiological weeks 36-17). VE was explored by the interval between first and second doses, time since the second dose, and with a third dose.
Despite the availability of improved antiviral therapies, infection with Hepatitis B virus (HBV) remains a3 significant health issue, as a curable treatment is yet to be discovered. Current HBV vaccines relaying on the efficient expression of the small (S) envelope protein in yeast and the implementation of mass vaccination programs have clearly contributed to containment of the disease. However, the lack of an efficient immune response in up to 10% of vaccinated adults, the controversies regarding the seroprotection persistence in vaccine responders and the emergence of vaccine escape virus mutations urge for the development of better HBV immunogens.

Methods: Study design is a multicentre retrospective observational case series; 115 paediatric patients diagnosed with GO who visited our university medical centres in the Netherlands and Iran between 2003 and 2019 were submitted for complete ophthalmological examinations, serological testing and/or orbital imaging.
Composite materials reinforced with textile fabrics represent a complex subject. When explaining these materials, one must consider their mechanical behavior in general, and impact resistance in particular, as many applications are characterized by dynamic strains. Impact characteristics must be considered from the early stages of the design process in order to be controlled through structure, layer deposition and direction.

Objective: The main aim of this study was to test whether the use of mouthwash is associated with subtypes of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) and to test the potential risk of SCCHN depending on the mouthwash use duration, frequency, or alcoholic content.
Materials And Methods: We performed a meta-analysis using Web of Science and Scopus databases to detect the risk change associated with mouthwash use depending on the alcohol content, duration and frequency of use, and anatomical location. We used a random-effects model with the Sidik-Jonkman estimator for effect size model measures.
(1) Background: A comparative research study to remove Congo Red (CR) and Methyl Orange (MO) from single and binary solutions by adsorption onto cobalt ferrite (CoFeO) and cobalt ferrite-chitosan composite (CoFeO-Chit) prepared by a simple coprecipitation method has been performed. (2) Methods: Structural, textural, morphology, and magnetic properties of the obtained magnetic materials were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, N adsorption-desorption analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and magnetic measurements. This study explores the interplay between wave propagation and damage in brittle materials. The damage models, based on micro-mechanical fracture dynamics, capture any possible unstable growth of micro-cracks, introducing a macroscopic loss of stability. After stating the non-dimensional mathematical problem describing the wave propagation with damage, we introduce a non-dimensional number, called the microscopic evolution index, which links the micro and macro scales and discriminates the microscopic scale behaviour.

Methods: We analyzed data of women followed-up prospectively during their pregnancies and at least 3 months post-partum, collected in the Pregnancy in Multiple Sclerosis (PRIMS) and Prevention of Post-Partum Relapses with Progestin and Estradiol in Multiple Sclerosis (POPARTMUS) studies between 1992-1995 and 2005-2012, respectively.
