Purpose: Robotic surgery has been incorporated in the treatment of endometrial cancer, with evidence suggesting that minimal access surgery offers advantages over laparotomy including less blood loss, lower rate of perioperative complications, and accelerated postoperative recovery. The laparoscopic approach to cervical cancer (LACC) study has recently demonstrated inferior survival outcomes in cervical cancer patients treated with minimal access surgery including robotic surgery. It is, therefore, imperative that further evaluation of the latter in endometrial cancer is performed.

Design: Stepwise demonstration of the technique with narrated video footage.
Setting: Sentinel lymph node sampling has been established as an acceptable staging method in endometrial cancer cases.
Background/aim: This study aimed to identify differences in the pattern and timing of recurrence in patients with advanced ovarian cancer undergoing primary (PDS) or interval debulking surgery after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT).
Patients And Methods: Data were prospectively collected on 105 patients from June 2016 to March 2020.
Results: There were 30 (50%) recurrences in the PDS group compared to 32 (72.
Background/aim: We aimed to identify differences in cytoreduction rates and procedures performed in patients with advanced ovarian cancer undergoing primary (PDS) or interval debulking surgery (IDS).
Patients And Methods: Data were collected prospectively on 110 consecutive patients from June 2016 to Mar 2020.
Results: Forty-nine patients (44.
This national audit assessed whether UK specialist vulval clinics adhere to the British Society of Vulval Diseases (BSSVD) document 'Standards of care for women with vulval conditions' published in 2013 and benchmarked clinician attitudes towards nurse practitioners in vulval services. Audit standards were based on the BSSVD guidance. All BSSVD and British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology or BSCCP members were surveyed via two electronic questionnaires.

We explore the potential reasons for these increased rates and discuss the implications this may have on the English NHS cervical screening programme (CSP).
Methods: A retrospective cohort study with interval analysis between June 2007 and June 2012.
Extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD) is a rare intraepidermal adenocarcinoma that can affect the vulval skin. Surgical excision is the gold-standard treatment, however, recurrence rates are high and extensive excisions can produce long-lasting cosmetic and functional defects. We describe one of the largest case series to-date (n = 6) on the use of topical 5% imiquimod cream as a novel treatment option and discuss our experiences.

We investigated the expression of TASK-3 in human ovaries, examined its prognostic significance, and determined effects of TASK-3 blockers on cell proliferation and apoptosis.
Materials And Methods: Immunofluorescence and western blotting were used to investigate TASK-3 expression in two ovarian cancer cell lines, normal ovarian surface epithelium and cancer.
Purpose: Aberrant expression of potassium (K(+)) channels contributes to cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis, and K(+) channel blockers can inhibit cell proliferation. TREK-1 and -2 belong to the two-pore domain (K2P) superfamily. We report TREK-1 and -2 expression in ovarian cancer and normal ovaries, and the effects of TREK-1 modulators on cell proliferation and apoptosis.

Most of the prognostic variables in ovarian cancer, including stage and residual disease, are amenable for assessment only after surgery. Currently there are no established preoperative markers including, CA-125, that can predict overall survival in patients with ovarian cancer.

Vulval problems are common in gynaecological practice. Pain syndromes of the vulva should be considered once infection and dermatological causes of vulval symptoms have been excluded. This article covers vulval vestibulitis and dysaesthetic vulvodynia, the two subgroups of vulval pain syndromes.
