Background: In patients with tracheobronchial involvement, the differential diagnosis between granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and relapsing polychondritis (RP) can be challenging. The aim of this study was to describe the characteristics of airway abnormalities on chest computed tomography (CT) in patients with GPA or RP and to determine whether specific imaging criteria could be used to differentiate them.

Methods: GPA and RP patients with tracheobronchial involvement referred to a national referral center from 2008 to 2020 were evaluated.

Article Synopsis
  • * Conducted across 20 French university hospitals, it analyzed data from over 10,700 patients who had both CT scans and RT-PCR tests, resulting in significant findings about sensitivity (80.2%) and specificity (79.7%) of CT.
  • * The extent of pneumonia visible on CT scans was identified as the strongest predictor of severe outcomes (like intubation or death) one month post-diagnosis, highlighting its clinical relevance in managing COVID-19 patients.

Article Synopsis
  • Many countries face challenges in widespread COVID-19 testing due to limited RT-PCR kits and CT-scans, prompting the need for a pre-test probability score for SARS-CoV-2 infection.
  • The study analyzed data from 605 patients across four university hospitals, focusing on demographic details, symptoms, and blood test results to identify key factors indicating infection risk.
  • The developed PARIS score demonstrated high accuracy in predicting SARS-CoV-2 infection, with a 93% positive predictive value and a 98% negative predictive value, making it a useful tool for clinicians in prioritizing tests and managing patient care.

Article Synopsis
  • COVID-19, which surfaced in 2019, spread quickly around the globe, and CT imaging is crucial for screening, quantifying, and staging the disease.
  • Effective staging is necessary for healthcare management, such as planning for ICU beds and enhancing drug development through quick assessments.
  • This study explored the use of medical imaging and AI to improve disease quantification and patient outcomes, demonstrating promising results through automated deep learning methods and combining imaging data with clinical information.

Objectives: To evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic performance of CT in patients referred for COVID19 suspicion to a French university hospital, depending on symptoms and date of onset.

Methods: From March 1st to March 28th, 214 patients having both chest CT scan and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT- PCT) within 24 h were retrospectively evaluated. Sensitivity, specificity, negative and positive predictive values of first and expert readings were calculated together with inter reader agreement, with results of RT-PCR as standard of reference and according to symptoms and onset date.

Background: This study evaluated the ability of T1 and T2 mapping cardiovascular magnetic resonance to assess myocardial involvement in Takotsubo syndrome (TTS). We hypothesized that non-contrast mapping techniques can be accurate and sufficient.

Methods: We prospectively analysed 30 patients with TTS and 34 controls.
