While many factors predicting PANCE performance have been investigated, exploration and discussions of interventions to improve PANCE performance are limited. Medical students face challenging but important topics they must learn in short periods of time, such as autonomic pharmacology. Autonomic pharmacology is difficult in that it requires students to synthesize detailed anatomy, physiology, clinical reasoning, and pharmacology. The subject poses a challenge to learn as it is often introduced early in medical school curricula.

Adverse reactions, including severe cutaneous reactions, to cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulators have been described in the literature. Herein we present a drug eruption in response to elexacaftor/tezcaftor/ivacaftor (brand name, Trikafta) in a 7-year-old male with cystic fibrosis, followed by desensitization and successful continuation. A review of the literature outlining similar cases is provided.
