Flecainide-Induced Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome: A Case Report.

Flecainide is an antiarrhythmic drug that rarely causes lung injury. We present a case of flecainide-induced lung injury (FILI) that resulted in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and resolved after flecainide discontinuation and corticosteroid treatment. FILI has been shown to occur days to two years after treatment initiation.

Effect of chest tube size on pleurodesis efficacy in malignant pleural effusion: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Background: Malignant pleural effusion (MPE) develops in approximately 50% of all patients with metastatic cancer. The efficacy of small- large-bore chest tube for pleurodesis in patients with MPE is still not clear.

Methods: We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of chest tube size in the management of MPE.

Femoral neck geometric parameters (FNGPs), which include cortical thickness (CT), periosteal diameter (W), buckling ratio (BR), cross-sectional area (CSA), and section modulus (Z), contribute to bone strength and may predict hip fracture risk. Age at menarche (AAM) is an important risk factor for osteoporosis and bone fractures in women. Some FNGPs are genetically correlated with AAM.
