Objectives: Quality of life (QoL) is directly associated with physical-psychological well-being, family and environmental factors in patients with Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS). The present study aims to investigate the factors affecting QoL in both MPS patients and their caregivers.
Methods: The sociodemographic characteristics, clinical findings, and special needs of 37 patients with MPS were questioned, among which 28 pediatric patients were evaluated for QoL using the KINDL-parents scale.
Background/aim: This study aimed to investigate pregnancy frequency and evaluate the factors affecting live births in hemodialysis (HD) patients.
Materials And Methods: Female HD patients whose pregnancy was retrospectively reported between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2019. The duration of HD, primary disease, whether the pregnancy resulted in abortion, stillbirth, or live birth, whether the HD duration was prolonged after diagnosing the pregnancy and whether it accompanied preeclampsia were recorded.

Background: There are limited data on the long-term outcomes of COVID-19 from different parts of the world.
Aims: To determine risk factors of 90-day mortality in critically ill patients in Turkish intensive care units (ICUs), with respiratory failure.
Study Design: Retrospective, observational cohort.
While plateau airway pressure alone is an unreliable estimate of lung overdistension inspiratory transpulmonary pressure (PL) is an important parameter to reflect it in patients with ARDS and there is no concensus about which computation method should be used to calculate it. Recent studies suggest that different formulas may lead to different tidal volume and PEEP settings. The aim of this study is to compare 3 different inspiratory PL measurement method; direct measurement (PL), elastance derived (PL) and release derived (PL) methods in patients with multiple mechanical abnormalities.

A 20-year-old male patient was admitted following a traumatic nasal wound which occurred several hours prior. He had a nasal glass cut from the radix to the supratip area which was primarily closed by non-absorbable suture.

In the literature, there are generally case reports on this subject, and few studies that include a large group of patients. Therefore, we aimed to present the data of a large group of patients who were diagnosed with acute renal infarction in our country in this retrospective study.

Chiari malformation type I (CM-I), described by a descent of the cerebellar tonsils, is assumed to be a neurological developmental disorder. The aim of the present study was to investigate morphological variance in cerebellar sub-structures, including gray matter (GM), white matter (WM), and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), using magnetic resonance (MR) images with three-dimensional (3D) fractal dimension (FD) analysis in patients with CM-I. MRI data of 16 patients and 15 control subjects were obtained, and structural complexity analyses were performed using a box-counting FD algorithm.

Materials And Methods: Thirty healthy patients with bilaterally impacted mandibular third molars were included in this randomized, cross-over, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Patients were assigned randomly to 1 of 3 surgery groups and received postoperatively 1,200 mg oxaprozin, 550 mg naproxen sodium, or a placebo.
Purpose: We evaluated the impact of varicocelectomy on the sperm retrieval success rate using microsurgical testicular sperm extraction and intracytoplasmic sperm injection in men with clinical varicocele and nonobstructive azoospermia.
Materials And Methods: The study included 96 men with complete nonobstructive azoospermia with a history of clinical unilateral or bilateral varicocele. Of the patients 66 previously underwent successful varicocelectomy and 30 had any grade of varicocele at sperm extraction.
Objective: To examine whether there is a relation between nightmares and serum lipid levels.
Methods: Fifteen subjects who met DSM-IV criteria for the diagnosis of nightmare disorder and 15 healthy control subjects participated in the study. We used an enzymatic colorimetric method for cholesterol and triglyceride determination.
