In each experiment, participants completed a dichotic listening task requiring two responses to syllables and we noted the order of report for the responses. We searched five databases and accessed unpublished data to identify studies that assessed body image at two or more time points over six months or longer. Analyses were based on data from 142 samples representing a total of 128,254 participants.
