Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) aim to enhance quality of life through safe sexual experiences, reproductive autonomy, and protection against gender-based violence. However, existing SRHR research and interventions in low- and middle-income countries like Bangladesh predominantly focus on women, often understating men and neglecting the nuanced contextual issues faced by married couples. This study contributes to filling this gap by examining SRHR dynamics among newlyweds in rural and poor urban areas of Bangladesh, especially focusing on marital satisfaction, fertility preferences, and post-marriage adaptation mechanisms.

Methods: The retrospective, single-centre study was conducted at the University College Hospital Galway, Ireland, and comprised data from January 11, 2012, to June 17, 2016, of all patients aged >18 years who underwent partial nephrectomy as part of treatment for kidney cancer. Data was analysed using SPSS 20.

Background: With the advent of minimally invasive techniques and enhanced recovery pathways, outpatient surgery is becoming increasingly common, but has not yet been extensively described in liver surgery. The aim of the present study was to analyze the incidence, characteristics, and outcomes of patients undergoing outpatient hepatectomy in the US.
Methods: We utilized the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) database for patients who underwent laparoscopic or robotic, elective hepatectomy from 2014 to 2021.
Background: On January 31st, 2023, the province of British Columbia (BC), Canada, was granted a federal exemption allowing adults (aged 18 +) to possess up to 2.5 g of select illicit drugs. The exemption will be in place for three years (2023-2026), marking the first formal decriminalization of illicit drug policy reform in Canada.

The proper selection of the energy source for power generation is a key part of the OSCS project. To select the optimal renewable energy for OSCS with many difficulties such as the ambiguity of the decision-making environment, the differences in group assessment information, and the conflict and compensation between criteria, this paper proposed a fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) framework.

Studies evaluating pain outcomes and opioid requirement differences between the robotic and laparoscopic colorectal resections are conflicting and often underpowered. In this retrospective, cohort study, we compare postoperative opioid requirements, reported as morphine milligram equivalents (MME), postoperative average and highest pain scores across postoperative days (POD) 0-5, and return to work in patients who underwent robotic versus laparoscopic colorectal resections.

Methods: As part of the Global Information System on Alcohol and Health study, a systematic search was performed in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses criteria to identify regionally or nationally representative survey reports of the general population from 1 January 2010 to 6 August 2019. Alcohol-related measures extracted from surveys were categorized into 10 domains: alcohol consumption status; alcohol consumption; unrecorded alcohol consumption; drinking patterns; symptoms of dependence and/or harmful use; drinking during pregnancy; treatment coverage; second-hand harms; economic; and other.
Paraquat (PQ) is a noxious herbicide which adversely affects the vital organs including male reproductive system. Sudachitin (SCN) is a naturally occurring flavonoid that demonstrates a wide range of biological potentials. The current study was designed to investigate the alleviative potential of SCN to avert PQ-induced testicular toxicity in rats.

Background: Although young adults and middle-aged adults have borne the brunt of the drug overdose crisis in Canada, older adults are also at an increased risk of harms. We examined trends in drug overdose deaths and opioid overdose deaths among adults 65 years of age and older.
Methods: Age-standardized rates of drug overdose deaths in Canada (2000-2022) and of opioid overdose deaths in Ontario (2003-2021) were computed.
Due to antimicrobial drug resistance, there is a growing interest in the development of light based alternative antibacterial therapies. This research work is focused on the inactivation of Escherichia coli (E. coli) by exploiting the absorption bands 405, 505, 542, 580 and 631 nm of its indigenously produced Protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) excited by three LEDs with broad emission bands at 418, 522 and 630 nm and two laser diodes with narrow emission bands at 405 and 635 nm.

These nanohybrids were prepared by graft polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate onto sepiolite. We utilized free radical graft polymerization to graft glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) onto silanized sepiolite.

To examine the changes in modes of cannabis use and their correlates among adults in Ontario, Canada both prior to and following cannabis legalization in 2018. Data were utilized from the 2017 to 2022 Centre for Addiction and Mental Health's (CAMH) Monitor study, a repeated cross-sectional survey of adults 18 years of age and older ( = 2,665; 56% male).

Methods: Data were from a repeated, population-based, cross-sectional survey of adults (N = 19,543; 2014-2019). Cannabis use was categorized as either medical cannabis use, recreational cannabis use or no cannabis use.
Letrozole (LTZ) is used as first-line treatment for hormone-positive breast cancer (BC) in postmenopausal women. However, its poor aqueous solubility and permeability have reduced its clinical efficacy. Herein, we developed LTZ-nanotransferosomes (LTZ-NT) to address above mentioned issues.

The current study represents an effort to address this gap in our understanding. This prospective exploratory study was conducted on adults aged 14 years and older at the Indus Hospital, Karachi, from 2017 to 2020.

This study reports on the synthesis, characterization, and application of two acidic ionic liquids, namely, -carboxymethylpyridinium acetate ([HOCCHPy][CHCO] or ) and -carboxyethylpyridinium acetate ([HOC(CH)Py][CHCO] or ), as both extractants and catalysts for the oxidative and extractive desulfurization (OEDS) of model fuel oils containing heteroaromatic sulfur compounds. The structural properties of the synthesized acidic ionic liquids (ILs) were confirmed by H NMR, C NMR, and FT-IR spectroscopic analysis. To optimize the performance of the acidic AILs in the desulfurization process, the effects of different parameters, such as HO dosage, reaction time, and temperatures, were investigated.

This study highlights how Bangladeshi mainstream newspapers represented AMR-related news and how they created the narrative of AMR in Bangladesh.
Methods: We conducted both quantitative and qualitative content analysis on 275 AMR-related news articles published in the twelve highest circulated dailies (January 2010 to September 2021).
