Male breast cancer is a rare entity. Statistics suggest the female:male ratio is100:1. Male breast cancer is most frequent in elderly patients, but it can occur at any age.

Protein profiling of complete mole and normal placenta using ProteinChip analysis on laser capture microdissected cells.

Introduction: Surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (SELDI-MS) is a novel method for biomarker discovery that can provide a rapid protein expression profile from a variety of biological samples. Since SELDI-MS requires a small amount of biological material, this technique is ideal for analyzing proteins isolated from microdissected tissue samples. The current study was undertaken to investigate potential differences in protein expression between normal and molar trophoblast procured by laser capture microdissection (LCM) utilizing SELDI ProteinChip array technology.

The diagnostics and prevalence of genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in Hungary.

Objective: To show the prevalence and determine the type of human papillomavirus (HPV) in healthy women of reproductive age in Hungary.

Study Design: We determined HPV nucleic acid using the Digene Hybrid Capture HPV-DNA assay from endocervical swabs of 1121 volunteer women of reproductive age. With the help of the hybridization antibody capture test we determined 14 HPV types (low risk, intermediate and high risk).
