Prompt dependency is a common concern for individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder. Previous research has shown that different interventions can be used to decrease prompt dependency. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of various treatments to decrease prompt dependency during functional communication training in the treatment of challenging behavior maintained by access to tangible items in a 16-year-old female diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Students with or at risk for EBD experience multiple negative outcomes impacting their school years, and these negative outcomes extend past graduation. Social and emotional learning programs are being used by schools to build students' competency in areas designed to help them successfully manage the school environment and life in general.

These stimuli are often used as a treatment component for challenging behavior that is maintained by automatic reinforcement. One limitation of implementing competing stimulus assessments is that they may be time consuming.

We report a case of giant cell pulmonary arteritis revealed by acute pulmonary embolism and associated with giant cell arteritis.
Observation: An 80 year-old woman was hospitalised for pulmonary embolism with acute pulmonary heart.
Our aim was to compare the sensitivity of various diagnostic criteria for adult Still's disease in 17 patients with established adult Still's disease who were followed in a department of internal medicine over a mean period of 7 years. The median age of the 17 patients was 27 years and the sex ratio M:F was 1:4. The patients had essentially systemic manifestations with fever (n=14), inflammation and leukocytosis (n=16), and moderate liver dysfunction (n=13) that disappeared after a mean of 21 days (range 8-48 days).

Methods: Between 1980 and 1997, 83 patients diagnosed as having tuberculosis were treated in two departments of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. They were divided into 42 young (< 65 years) and 41 elderly (> or = 65 years) patients and differences in presentation between the two groups were analysed.

Objective: Certain liver test abnormalities have been described in adult Still's disease. The objective of the present study was to analyze their type and frequency.
Patients: In a 10 year retrospective study, patients were included if they fulfilled Kahn's and/or Yamaguchi's diagnostic criteria (median follow-up: 6.
Background: Veno-occlusive disease of the liver is a common cause of morbidity and mortality after chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. Non thrombotic hepatic venous obstruction is characteristic, but pathogenesis of this disease remains unknown.
Case Report: In june 1993, a 58-year-old man was treated by cyclophosphamide and steroid for a POEMS syndrome.
Background: Common variable immunodeficiency (CVI) is a heterogeneous disorder characterized by decreased production of antibodies. Clinical presentation of CVI is generally that of recurrent pyogenic infections. Autoimmune diseases can also occur.

Methods: Hemiirides (bovine) and iris-ciliary bodies (human, rabbit, and rat) were incubated in Krebs solution containing [3H]-norepinephrine ([3H]NE) for 60 minutes. After incubation, tissues were set up for studies of [3H]NE release using the superfusion method.
The authors report the case of a 67-year old man, with no particular medical history, presenting a large swelling of the left thigh. Investigations conclude to metastases located in muscles of the left thigh and of the pelvis, secondary to an adenocarcinoma of presumed pancreatic origin. With reference to this case, features of muscular metastases are reviewed.
