[Overlooked professionalism-Individual factors for success of peer support workers].

Background: The peer support worker is becoming increasingly more relevant also due to the new personnel regulations. Therefore, the question arises which individual conditions for success are available for the implementation of peer support workers.

Method: This study is a subproject of ImpPeer-Psy5 study financed by Innovation Funds, which investigates the nationwide requirements for the implementation of peer support workers in care financed by health insurance funds (German Social Act V, SGB V).

Implementing peer support work in mental health care in Germany: The methodological framework of the collaborative, participatory, mixed-methods study (ImpPeer-Psy5).

Background: Starting in the 1990s in the United States, individuals with lived experience of mental health crises and recovery have been employed as peer support workers (PSWs) internationally. However, the implementation of PSW in clinical contexts remains challenging.

Methods: This manuscript presents and discusses the methodological framework of the ImpPeer-Psy5 study on the PSW implementation in the German mental healthcare sector.

Introduction: Compulsory admissions are associated with feelings of fear, humiliation and powerlessness. The number of compulsory admissions in Germany and other high-income countries has increased in recent years. Peer support has been shown to increase the self-efficacy of individuals with mental health conditions in acute crises and to reduce the use of coercive measures in clinical settings.

Effectiveness of a contact-based anti-stigma intervention for police officers.

Introduction: Police force interaction rates with individuals with mental health conditions are on the rise. International research reveals that the presence of a mental health condition increases the risk for detention and use of force by police officers. Stigmatization of individuals with mental health conditions as dangerous and unpredictable is assumed to have an impact on the likelihood of police use of force.
