The goal of the present study was to prepare meloxicam (MX) entrapped hybrid particles (HPs) to enhance intestinal permeation and anti-inflammatory activity. MX-HPs were prepared by nanoprecipitation method using lipid, chitosan, poloxamer, and TPGS. The formulations (MX-HPs1, MX-HPs2, MX-HPs3) were evaluated for particle size, entrapment efficiency, and drug release to select the optimized composition and further evaluated for permeation study, stability study, morphology, interaction study, and anti-inflammatory activity by carrageenan-induced rat paw edema test.

Ulnar shortening osteotomy (USO) and the arthroscopic wafer procedure (AWP) are established therapies for UIS if conservative management fails. A Systematic Review of Naldemedine and Naloxegol for the Treatment of Opioid-Induced Constipation in Cancer Patients.

Background: Opioid-induced constipation (OIC) is a pervasive and distressing side effect of chronic opioid therapy in patients with cancer pain, significantly impacting their quality of life. Peripherally acting μ-opioid receptor antagonists (PAMORAS) were developed for treatment-resistant OIC but most studies were conducted with non-cancer patients.

Unmasking the Unforeseen: A Case of Radiological Tension Empyema Mimicking a Traumatic Hemothorax.

We present a case of a previously fit and well 28-year-old male who presented to the emergency department with respiratory distress and hypoxia four days after an alleged assault and blunt-force trauma to the chest wall. Initial clinical assessment and imaging suggested a likely diagnosis of delayed massive hemothorax associated with mediastinal shift. However, upon chest drain insertion, a large amount of pus was unexpectedly drained, leading to an immediate improvement in symptoms and restoration of mediastinal anatomy on repeat imaging.
