Objective: To assess the efficacy of short-course postpartum (6-h) magnesium sulfate therapy versus 24-h conventional magnesium sulfate therapy in severe preeclampsia.
Methods: Cases of severe preeclampsia were randomly allocated to group A (n = 76) and group B (n = 43). Group A and group B received magnesium sulfate loading dose (4 g) followed by infusion for 6 and 24 h postpartum (1 gm/h), respectively.
A heterotopic pregnancy is a rare complication of pregnancy, in which both extra-uterine and intrauterine gestation occur simultaneously. We hereby report a case of ruptured heterotopic pregnancy presenting at 6weeks of gestation and was managed with immediate laparatomy. The intrauterine pregnancy course was uneventful with delivery of a healthy baby at term by Caesarean section.

Introduction: The purpose of our study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of transcervical amnioinfusion during labour complicated by meconium-stained amniotic fluid, in a setting with limited peripartum facilities, to lower the incidence of caesarean section.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted in a teaching hospital in north India, which enrolled 292 patients admitted in labour. Patients were randomly divided into two groups after taking their consent.
Cytokines are major contributors in pathogenesis of pre eclampsia. Serum TNF-alpha was determined in 10 normal and 30 pre-eclamptic pregnant females with special reference to maternal age, parity and levels of mean arterial blood pressure. TNF-alpha was determined using sandwich ELISA technique.
