Introduction: The ideal antiplatelet therapy to maintain graft patency after coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) remains controversial. This review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) aims to compare aspirin monotherapy, ticagrelor monotherapy, dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with aspirin and ticagrelor (Asp+Tica) or with aspirin and clopidogrel (Asp+Clopi) to evaluate differences in post-CABG saphenous vein graft (SVG) occlusion, internal mammary artery (IMA) occlusion, myocardial infarction (MI), bleeding, and all-cause mortality (ACM) rates.

Evidence Acquisition: The literature review was conducted on several electronic databases, including Medline, Embase, and Cochrane Central, from inception to August 10, 2022.

Endometritis is a common disease that affects the production in dairy cows and leads to severe losses in the dairy industry. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation promotes pathogenic invasions of the lumen of the tissue, leading to inflammatory diseases such as mastitis, pancreatitis, and septic infection. However, research that could show the relationship between NETs and endometritis is scarce.

Exposure to air pollution during prenatal or neonatal periods is associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to epidemiology studies. Furthermore, prenatal exposure to valproic acid (VPA) has also been found to be associated with an increased prevalence of ASD. To assess the association between simultaneous exposure to VPA and air pollutants, seven exposure groups of rats were included in current study (PM and gaseous pollutants exposed - high dose of VPA (PGE-high); PM and gaseous pollutants exposed - low dose of VPA (PGE-low); gaseous pollutants only exposed - high dose of VPA (GE-high); gaseous pollutants only exposed - low dose of VPA (GE-low); clean air exposed - high dose of VPA (CAE-high); clean air exposed - low dose of VPA (CAE-low) and clean air exposed (CAE)).

As a highly inflammatory form of programmed cell death, pyroptosis is triggered by pro-inflammatory signals and associated with inflammation. It is characterized by cell swelling and large bubbles emerging from the plasma membrane, which release cytokines during inflammation. Compared with other types of cell death, pyroptosis has a distinct morphology and mechanism and involves special inflammasome cascade pathways.

In order to control and prevent bovine endometritis, there is a need to understand the molecular pathogenesis of the infectious disease. Bovine endometrium is usually invaded by a massive mobilization of microorganisms, especially bacteria, during postpartum dairy cows. Several reports have implicated the Gram-negative bacteria in the pathogenesis of bovine endometritis, with information dearth on the potentials of Gram-positive bacteria and their endotoxins.

The bovine endometrium is a natural pathogen invasion barrier of the uterine tissues' endometrial epithelial cells that can resist foreign pathogen invasion by controlling the inflammatory immune response. Some pathogens suppress the innate immune system of the endometrium, leading to prolonged systemic inflammatory response through the blood circulation or cellular degradation resulting in bovine endometritis by bacterial endotoxins. The microRNA (miRNA) typically involves gene expression in multicellular organisms in post-transcription regulation by affecting both the stability and the translation of messenger RNA.

Article Synopsis
  • This study examined the effectiveness of noncontrast CT and CT perfusion (CTP) in assessing patients for endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) due to large-vessel occlusions.
  • Among 361 patients included, 79% received EVT, with a strong correlation between favorable imaging profiles and treatment outcomes.
  • The study found that having favorable results on both imaging modalities significantly increased the likelihood of receiving EVT and achieving functional independence, compared to patients with discordant or unfavorable profiles.
