We have developed chimeric cytokine (CC) and hemagglutinin (HA) incorporated virus-like particle (CCHA-VLP) as a universal influenza vaccine candidate.

Long-term efficacy and safety of canakinumab in the treatment of systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis in Japanese patients: Results from an open-label Phase III study.

Objectives: The objective of the study was to report the efficacy and safety of canakinumab treatment in Japanese patients with systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) over a 48-week study period.

Methods: Patients were administered canakinumab 4 mg/kg (maximum dose 300 mg) every 4 weeks, with no dose adjustments. The key outcome measures included adapted American College of Rheumatology paediatric (aACR pedi) 30/50/70/90/100 response, proportion of patients with inactive disease, and corticosteroid (CS) tapering.

The potential of a universal influenza virus-like particle vaccine expressing a chimeric cytokine.

The efficacy of the current influenza vaccines is frequently reduced because of antigenic drift, a trade-off of developing improved vaccines with broad cross-protective activity against influenza A viruses. In this study, we have successfully constructed a chimeric cytokine (CC) comprising the M2 protein, influenza A neuraminidase stalk, and interleukin-12. We produced virus-like particles (VLPs) containing CC and influenza hemagglutinin (HA) proteins using a baculovirus system in Eri silkworm pupae.

Case Report: Ultrasonography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Anterior Segment Dysgenesis in a Calf.

This study includes diagnostic efficacy of the antemortem, combined use of ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the diagnosis of anterior segment dysgenesis. A 7-day-old male Holstein calf presented with progressive unilateral exophthalmos associated with enlargement of the right eyeball soon after birth. Ultrasonography of the enlarged right eyeball showed (1) a 2-cm-thick echogenic parenchymal lesion filling the anterior region of the right eyeball, (2) excess accumulation of the anechoic vitreous humor, and (3) absence of the lens structure.

Imaging findings and outcomes after traumatic cerebellar injury: a canine case report.

Background: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a structural injury or physiological disruption of the brain induced by an external force. The cerebellum facilitates movement coordination and provides a sense of equilibrium; damage to this structure can cause a wide variety of symptoms, including ataxia or dystaxia, ocular motor dysfunction, and disequilibrium. TBIs localised to the cerebellum are rare in dogs, and the prognosis following this type of injury remains unclear.

Detection of squamous cell carcinoma of presumed pancreatic origin and its metastasis in a spotted seal (Phoca largha) using ultrasonography and computed tomography.

A 21-year-old female spotted seal (Phoca largha), with a swollen abdomen, had a five-month history of anorexia and vomiting. Ultrasonography revealed an extended mass with central necrotic foci in the right cranial abdomen. Computed tomography revealed an abdominal mass with a low-density central lumen and a pulmonary nodular lesion.
