IgG4-Related Diseases Involving Bilateral Renal Pelvises Successfully Treated with Steroid Therapy.

Immunoglobulin (Ig) G4-related diseases are very rare diseases and are difficult to diagnose and treat. Here, we report a rare condition, an IgG4-related disease involving the bilateral renal pelvises, which was successfully treated with steroid therapy. A 64-year-old female was admitted with left flank pain and hematuria.

Patients' self-management of adverse events and patient-reported outcomes in advanced renal cell carcinoma treated with targeted therapies: A prospective, longitudinal, observational study.

Background: Early intervention to reduce the impact of adverse events (AEs) may improve patients' quality of life and enable optimal treatment duration.

Methods: This nationwide, multicenter, prospective, longitudinal, 1-year observational study investigated patients' self-management of AEs associated with targeted therapy for advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and explored corresponding outcomes, including treatment duration and patient-reported outcomes (PROs).

Results: We enrolled 77 advanced RCC patients (mean age 62 years) treated with a first targeted therapy.

Prognostic value of preoperative systemic inflammation markers in localized upper tract urothelial cell carcinoma: a large, multicenter cohort analysis.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of preoperative systemic inflammation markers in upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC).

Methods: A total of 1137 patients who underwent radical nephroureterectomy with bladder cuff excision at 9 institutions from 2004 to 2015, were retrospectively reviewed. The Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS), modified GPS (mGPS), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) for each patient were calculated.

Robot-assisted laparoscopic augmentation ileocystoplasty: a case report.

Augmentation cystoplasty is suitable for a contracted bladder with low compliance that is refractory to conservative treatment. However, the procedure is associated with operative morbidity such as a long surgical wound, postoperative pain, and a long hospital stay. With the goal of reducing the morbidity associated with open surgery, minimally invasive surgery is increasingly being performed as laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
