Objective: The objective of this study is to synthesize and comprehensively characterize a novel iodine-containing coordination compound, di-aminopropionic acid hydrogen tri-iodide. This involves determining its structural, physicochemical, and thermal properties, as well as evaluating its antimicrobial activity against a range of bacterial strains, including multidrug-resistant pathogens. The aim is to explore the potential of this compound as a candidate for developing new antibacterial agents to address the challenge of antibiotic resistance.

Background: Iodine is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial disinfectant for topical application. Recent studies have shown promising results on the applicability of an iodine-containing complex, FS-1, against antibiotic-resistant pathogens.
Drugs Armenicum and FS-1 are a solution of ionic nanostructured complexes of α-dextrin. In the active centers of these drugs, located inside the dextrin helix, molecular iodine has such an electronic form that minimizes toxic effects in the human body, so these drugs can be used for parenteral and oral administration. The problem of the fundamental restrictions on the minimal size of the nanomechanical device with SME for manipulation is connected with size effects which are observed in small samples of Ti-Ni based intermetallic alloys with thermoplastic structural phase transition from austenitic high symmetrical phase to low symmetrical martensitic phase. In the present work, by combining density functional theory and molecular dynamics modelling, austenite has been shown to be more stable than martensite in nanometer-sized TiNi wafers.

The strain ATCC BAA-1790 was sequenced as a model for nosocomial multidrug-resistant infections. Long-read PacBio sequencing revealed a circular chromosome of 3,963,235 bp with two horizontally transferred genomic islands and a 67,023-bp plasmid. Multiple antibiotic resistance genes and genome methylation patterns were identified.
