The medial circumflex femoral artery contributes to the blood supply of the adductor muscles, hip joint, and femoral head. Its variations are common and important in the surgical field, as its damage can cause femoral head necrosis. Most commonly, the variations include different origin patterns from the femoral artery or its branches.

Article Synopsis
  • * The study employs high-resolution imaging to reveal that the presence and positioning of histones at individual HSV-1 genomes show significant variability, impacting transcription regulation during the early stages of infection.
  • * The host protein Daxx, along with PML factors, plays a crucial role in modifying histones to control viral genome decompaction, which is manipulated by the virus’s own proteins, highlighting a complex interplay between viral strategies and host responses during infection.

Host innate immune defences play a critical role in restricting the intracellular propagation and pathogenesis of invading viral pathogens. Here we show that the histone H3.3 chaperone HIRA (histone cell cycle regulator) associates with promyelocytic leukaemia nuclear bodies (PML-NBs) to stimulate the induction of innate immune defences against herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) infection.

The human papillomavirus (HPV) replication cycle is tightly linked to epithelial cell differentiation. To examine HPV-associated changes in the keratinocyte transcriptome, RNAs isolated from undifferentiated and differentiated cell populations of normal, spontaneously immortalized keratinocytes (NIKS) and NIKS stably transfected with HPV16 episomal genomes (NIKS16) were compared using next-generation sequencing (RNA-Seq). HPV16 infection altered expression of 2,862 cellular genes.

Unlabelled: The aim of our study was to determine the efficacy and tolerability of local therapy with polyhexamethylene biguanid hydrochloride (BIGUANELLE) in women with anaerobic vaginal infection.

Material And Methods: We include in our study 23 women (18-50) with established by AMSEL criteria bacterial vaginosis. In all of the women at the beginning and at the end of the survey was performed gynecological examination and microbiological research (AMSEL).

Aim: Maternal periodontal infection has been recognized as a risk factor for premature and low birthweight infants. It is suspected that pathogens causing periodontal disease may translocate to the amniotic cavity and so contribute to triggering an adverse pregnancy outcome. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the presence of specific periodontal pathogens may influence the incidence of preterm labor and premature birth.

Currently, the most commonly performed surgeries for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) are mesh midurethral slings (MUS). They are minimally invasive outpatient procedures, and they are as effective as traditional suburethral slings, open retropubic colposuspension (Burch, Marshall-Marchetti), and laparoscopic retropubic colposuspension. They have a short operative time and fewer postoperative complications.

Aim: The objective of this study is to evaluate uterus preserving vaginal procedure of cervical amputation with uterosacral ligament plication (modified Manchester operation) and compare it to vaginal hysterectomy regard recurrence rate, duration of surgery, blood loses, intra and post-operative complications, duration of hospital stay.

Methods: Consecutive women with pelvic organ prolapse who underwent either vaginal hyste-rectomy or a modified Manchester procedure were included. Assessments were made preoperatively and at 1-year follow-up, including physical examination with pelvic organ prolapse quantification standardized questionnaires.

Two mathematical models were developed for studying the effect of main fermentation temperature (), immobilized cell mass () and original wort extract (OE) on beer fermentation with alginate-chitosan microcapsules with a liquid core. During the experiments, the investigated parameters were varied in order to find the optimal conditions for beer fermentation with immobilized cells. The basic beer characteristics, i.
