[The development and testing of reagents kit for detection and qualitative evaluation of DNA of methicillin sensitive and methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and also methicillin resistant coagulase negative Staphylococcus spp. applying technique of polymerase chain reaction in "real time" mode].

The reagents kit is developed to identify and quantitatively detect DNA of methicillin sensitive and methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, methicillin resistant coagulase negative Staphylococcus spp. in biological material using technique of polymerase chain reaction with hybridizational fluorescent detection and having higher analytical and diagnostic characteristics. The application of the given reagents kit makes it possible to optimize the epidemiologic monitoring of propagation of methicillin resistant strains of Staphylococcus spp.

[Optimization of kidney transplantation from elderly donors].

Operations of transplantation of kidneys taken from donors with expanded criteria with satisfactory results were made on 27 recipients of the older age group (from 60 through 76 years). [Problems of prevalance and resistance of nosocomial Klebsiella pneumonia in hospitals of Russia].

Prevalence of Klebsiella pneumoniae among gramnegative pathogens of nosocomial infections in intensive care units of 33 hospitals of 22 towns in Russia was investigated. Antibiotic susceptibility and extended-spectrum beta-lactamase production were tested in 420 nosocomial K. pneumoniae isolates.

[Clinical and immunological criteria of burn sepsis].

A hundred and twenty-nine victims aged 16 to 60 years who had skin burns in the area of 15 to 60% of the body surface without severe concomitant somatic disease (SAPS less than 9 scores). The clinical symptoms of a systemic inflammatory response (SIR) and the signs of wound infection were recorded in all the examinees. The victims underwent a comprehensive clinical and laboratory examination, 55 of them were immunologically studied over time (on admission, on days 3 and 10).

Experimental and clinical study of the demineralized bone allografts manufactured in the tissue bank of CITO.

The technology for producing demineralized bone allografts (DBA) with definable degree of demineralization and sterilization by high energy electron bean was developed in the tissue bank of Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics (CITO). The authors consider the technology to be one of the ways of producing demineralized bones. The results of the experiments show that time of demineralization process as well as the absorption dose of radioactive high energy electron beam change substantially mechanical toughness and osteoinductive properties of DBA.

[Risk factors of pseudomonas infection in hemoblastosis patients].

[Resistance of ambulatory urinary infection pathogens according to the data of multicenter microbiological studies UTIAP-I and UTIAP-II].

Aim: To study causative agents and sensitivity of E-coli strains isolated from adult outpatients with uncomplicated urinary infection (UI) in different regions of Russia.

Material And Methods: A multicenter prospective epidemiological study included adult patients with uncomplicated infections of the upper or lower urinary tracts. MPK of antibiotics was established by dilution in agar according to NCCLS recommendations, 2000-2002.

[Microbiologic characteristics of wound infectious process in use of ion-exchange sorbents].

In Wistar rats with modified Danilina's method a purulent wound was simulated. The animals were divided into 5 groups of treatment. In the study groups applications on the wound of ion-exchange sorbents of natural origin (ceolyt including its modification with 1% silver, multicomponent ointment with bentonit, poviargol, propolis and metronidazol) were used.

[Changes in the kallikrein-kinin system and lipid peroxidation in patients with diffuse peritonitis, complicated by adult respiratory distress syndrome].

The authors present results of their investigation of the state of kallikrein-kinin system (KKS) and lipid peroxidation (LP) in blood of 22 patients operated upon for acute diffuse peritonitis as a complication of different surgical diseases. In 8 patients who later died the respiratory distress-syndrome of adults (RDSA) developed at the early postoperative period. Activation of KKS and LP were observed in all the patients both in the venous and arterial blood, but it was more intensive in patients with RDSA.

[Clinical study of anti-leukotriene therapy with montelukast in bronchial asthma patients].

Clinical and functional efficacy of the antileukotriene agent montelucast (singulair) was investigated in 30 patients with moderately severe bronchial asthma. Patients with a positive FEV1 response to montelukast (61.1%) demonstrated a higher blood level of IgE and sputum eosinophilia.

[Sensitizing effects of fodder yeast dust].

Sensibilization activity of the fodder yeasts grown on the sulphate wastes of pulp and paper mills in inhalation, into and onto skin injection experiments with guinea pigs was studied. This activity depended on the action intensity. Application onto skin is more effective, than injection into skin.

[Pathogenetic aspects of studying clonal properties of bone marrow stromal cells in diseases of the osteoarticular system].

Properties of clonogenic stromal fibroblasts of bone marrow which are precursors of osteo- and chondrogenesis, of patients with different diseases of osteoarticular apparatus have been studied. Peculiarities of their reaction on growth-stimulating influence of nonstromal auto- and xenogeneic cells have been demonstrated. The possibilities of data application for studying of pathogenesis of hereditary osteochondrodysplasias as well as other groups of the skeleton affections are considered.

It has been shown by the direct experiment in the haploid yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, strain p192 (a ade2-192), that, if cultivated in the solid media containing 1 and 10 mg/l of adenine, the reversion frequencies (5.6 X 10(-8) and 0.82 X 10(-8), respectively) do not depend on the number of cells (from 10(2) to 10(7)) in colonies growing on either medium.

[Cytochemical and electron microscopic research on the peripheral blood leukocytes and skin fibroblasts in mucopolysaccharidoses].

Cytochemical studies of the peripheral blood leucocytes in patients suffering from mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) have revealed metachromatic granules in the cell cytoplasm. Electron microscopy of these cells has shown multiple cytoplasmic vacuoles. It is supposed that metachromatic granules in blood leucocytes of patients with MPS observed in the photo-optical studies correspond to the vacuoles found under electron microscope.

[Mechanical hemolysis in patients with mitral and aortic valve prostheses].

The examination of 25 patients operated upon has shown that alterations of functions of the artificial prostheses of the heart valves can be timely detected by a complex of laboratory studies (determination of activity of lactate dehydrogenase, osmotic resistance of erythrocytes, reticulocyte content, hemoglobin and morphological features of erythrocytes).
