To tackle the problem of developing efficient adsorbents for the selective removal of copper ions from wastewater, this investigation focused on the synthesis of Fe-GO/MMT/SA and Al-GO/MMT/SA copper ion adsorbent materials (Fe-GMS and Al-GMS), respectively, by merging two distinct metal ions (Fe(III) and Al(III)) with sodium alginate (SA), graphene oxide (GO), and montmorillonite (MMT). By introducing metal ions with different coordination configurations, the slit structure and pore density of the adsorbents can be effectively controlled, thereby enhancing the selectivity for copper ion adsorption. The results show that Fe-GMS has excellent adsorption capacity for Cu(II) compared with Al(III), and the adsorption capacity and distribution coefficient are 116.

A gold-catalyzed sulfonylation reaction of aryl iodides with different sodium sulfinates facilitated by the ligand-enabled Au(I)/Au(III) redox catalysis was developed. In the reaction of gold-catalyzed C-S coupling, a variety of functionalized sodium sulfinates, such as CF, CHF, CH, and alkyl groups, can react smoothly with aryl iodides to directly construct diversely functionalized aryl sulfones. This gold-catalyzed sulfonylation offers a complementary method for synthesizing functionalized aryl sulfones with electron-donating groups.

A tunable Rh(III)-catalyzed C(sp)-H bond functionalization of aryl imidates with cyclic 1,3-diones was developed. With suitable and straightforward reaction condition adjustments, the C-H bond functionalization of diverse aryl imidates with cyclic 1,3-diones occurred smoothly and precisely at room temperature. Accompanied by different directing group transformations, a series of corresponding aryl nitriles, hydrophenanthridin-1(2)-ones, spiro isoindoles, or hydrophenanthridine-1,6(2,5)-diones were synthesized in good yields to provide a rational directing group utilization strategy for the Rh(III)-catalyzed C(sp)-H bond activation.

Hydrogen sulfide (HS) is the third gas signaling molecule that has been shown to be involved in the regulating vital activities in the body, including inhibition of aging. However, it is unknown whether HS alleviates aging in the kidney and glomerular mesangial cells (GMCs) by modulating their mitophagy. Here, results of experiments in vivo and in vitro showed that compared with control group, the renal function of mice and GMCs viability were decreased in D-gal (D-galactose) group, while the activity of SA-β-gal and p21 expression were increased, Cyclin D1 and Klotho expressions were decreased; HS content and CSE expression were lower; ROS and MDA contents and mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) opening were risedose; ATP production and mitochondrial membrane potential (Δψm) were reduced; Apoptotic rate, the expression of Cleaved caspase-9 and -3, Cyt c, p62 and Drp1 were enhanced and the expression of Bcl-2, Mfn2, Beclin-1, LC3 II/I, PINK1 and parkin were decreased.
