Background: Scoliosis is one of the long-term consequences of surgical resection of pediatric chest wall tumors. This study aimed to identify the risk factors associated with scoliosis development following the resection of chest wall tumors.
Methods: Retrospective cohort study of 64 children who underwent resection of malignant chest wall tumors from 2009 to 2022.
A midline approach to the lumbar region is most frequently used for posterior lumbar spine surgery. The exposure of the deeper layer of muscles, however, is imprecise and can entail substantial tissue damage and blood loss. During 10 years of operative surgical experience, we have developed an improved and less traumatic technique for exposure of the lumbar transverse processes and intertransverse region in which the tendons of multifidus and longissimus muscles are isolated at every level and divided laterally to the facet joints.

Objective: To describe Dropped Head Syndrome (DHS) to the orthopedic community and examine the management of this condition including the role of surgery.
Summary Of Background Data: DHS is characterized by severe neck extensor weakness, resulting in chin-on-chest deformity in the standing or sitting position, which is correctable by passive neck extension.
The development of Charcot's arthropathy of the spine secondary to spinal cord injury is rare and reports in the literature concerning it's surgical management are limited. Arthrodesis is the recommended treatment for painful and unstable neuropathic joints. Traditionally this involves extensive debridement of the affected joint with anterior and posterior instrumented fusion and autograft to bridge the defect.
