[The analysis of data of large study of cholesterol level in population: on the issue of reference values of cholesterol].

The article deals with analysis of the results of large study of cholesterol level at the sampling of 52 075 patients. The median of values of common cholesterol exceeds 5.0 mmol/l in all groups of males older than 30-35 years and females older than 35-40 years.

[The potentiation of adjuvant arthritis in rats by vasopressin and its V2 agonist].

Experiments on C57B1/6 mice and Wistar rats have demonstrated that neuropeptide vasopressin inhibits activity of antigen-specific suppressors and potentiates development of adjuvant arthritis. Vasopressin involvement in pathogenesis of autoimmunity is discussed.

[Morphologic studies of bronchial biopsies in chronic bronchitis before and after treatment].

Bronchial biopsies in patients with chronic bronchitis were studied histochemically, light and electron microscopically before and after conventional treatment and combined therapy (standard regimen plus He-Ne laser puncture). The conclusion is made that the combined therapy is more effective especially at early stages of the disease when irreversible sclerotic changes in the submucosa and microcirculatory bed are absent. This therapy at early stages of the disease stimulates regeneration of the surface bronchial epithelium and facilitates reversibility of initial metaplasia.
