Pulsed electromagnetic fields decrease proinflammatory cytokine secretion (IL-1β and TNF-α) on human fibroblast-like cell culture.

The clinical use of pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) in osteoarticular pathology is widely extended, although the mechanisms involved are unknown. The aim of this study was to evaluate the action of a new protocol of treatment with PEMF on liquid medium cultures of fibroblast-like cells derivates of mononuclear peripheral blood cells. Fibroblast-like cells growth was obtained in liquid medium culture from mononuclear cells (MNC) of human peripheral blood.

Psychometric characteristics of the Spanish version of instruments to measure neck pain disability.

Background: The NDI, COM and NPQ are evaluation instruments for disability due to NP. There was no Spanish version of NDI or COM for which psychometric characteristics were known. The objectives of this study were to translate and culturally adapt the Spanish version of the Neck Disability Index Questionnaire (NDI), and the Core Outcome Measure (COM), to validate its use in Spanish speaking patients with non-specific neck pain (NP), and to compare their psychometric characteristics with those of the Spanish version of the Northwick Pain Questionnaire (NPQ).

[Mesenchymal cells and fibrocytes in peripheral blood. Culture conditions].

Objectives: The fibrocytes, the mesenchymal cells and the colony forming units are included in the concept fibroblast-like, peripheral-blood circulating stem cells. The aim of this work was to establish the culture conditions.
