Introduction: Advances in the early detection and treatment of cancer have significantly improved the prognosis of patients with cancer. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are effective targeted treatments for various malignancies that act by inhibiting kinase activity. Although these drugs share a common mechanism of action, they differ in their targeted kinases, pharmacokinetics, and side effects.

Treatment efficacy of carboplatin+paclitaxel (CP), lenvatinib, S-1, and sunitinib remains uncertain, with some patients experiencing increased post-treatment liver metastasis.
Patients And Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of patients with metastatic thymic carcinoma who received chemotherapy between 2006 and 2023 at the National Cancer Center Hospital.
Objectives: Lorlatinib, a third-generation anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) inhibitor, causes distinct adverse events (AEs), including hyperlipidemia and central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Although dose modifications are recommended to manage these AEs, whether dose modifications can achieve optimal blood lorlatinib concentrations and reduce the incidence of lorlatinib-induced AEs remains unclear. Therefore, we investigated the association between lorlatinib exposure and AEs in each patient.

Methods: We examined the medical records of 118 eyes of 108 patients who were diagnosed and treated for infectious endophthalmitis at Saitama Medical University Hospital, Japan, between January 2015 to November 2022. Of these, we studied the 25 eyes of 21 patients who had been evaluated by electroretinography.
Purpose: To determine the physiological status of the retina by electroretinography (ERG) using skin electrodes and the RETeval system in eyes that had undergone pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with silicone oil (SO) tamponade. The vitrectomy was performed for a retinal detachment and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).
Design: Retrospective case series.

Purpose: We investigated the inhibitory effect of edaravone (EDR) lotion on chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA) to improve the quality of life for patients with cancer.
Methods: Wistar rats were intraperitoneally injected with cyclophosphamide (CPA, 75 mg/kg) to induce CIA and divided into six groups: (1) Control; (2) EDR 0%; (3) EDR 0.3%; (4) EDR 3%.
Background: We evaluated the pharmacokinetics (PK) of low-dose (15 mg) edoxaban in very elderly patients (≥80 years) with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) and high bleeding risk.
Methods: This subanalysis of the phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter ELDERCARE-AF study evaluated edoxaban plasma concentrations and compared them with the Japanese population of the ENGAGE AF-TIMI 48 and Japanese severe renal impairment (SRI) studies.
Results: The PK analysis population included 451 patients, 53.
Objective: Pain after a stroke interferes with daily life and the rehabilitation process. This study aimed to clarify the prognosis of pain in subgroups of patients with pain after a stroke using pain quality data.
Methods: The study included 85 patients with pain after stroke undergoing exercise-based rehabilitation.
Purpose: In the thermal grill illusion, participants experience a feeling similar to burning pain. The illusion is induced by simultaneously touching warm and cool stimuli in alternating positions. In post-stroke pain, central sensitization is caused by a variety of factors, including damage to the spinothalamic tract and shoulder pain.

Previously, we demonstrated that erlotinib plus bevacizumab (EB) improved progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with -positive non-squamous NSCLC in the randomized JO25567 study. To understand this effect, we conducted comprehensive exploratory biomarker analyses.

However, only a few case reports have been published that evaluated the retinal function and the retinal morphology. The relationship between retinal morphology and function of eyes with a vitreoretinal lymphoma (VRL) was investigated via optical coherence tomography (OCT) and electroretinography (ERG).

We compared CBI rats (CBI group; n = 10) with normal rats (control group; n = 10). We measured the expression of mast cell tryptase (MCT) and protease-activated receptor 2 (PAR2), which are correlated with C fiber activation via MCT, and Uroplakins (UP Ia, Ib, II and III), which are critical to urothelial barrier function, via Western blotting.

Methods: The study included patients with glaucoma who visited Saitama Medical University and underwent optical coherence tomography angiography, and multifocal electroretinographic examinations at the same time between February 2020 and April 2021. Correlations among the ocular parameters, macular vessel density, and multifocal electroretinographic parameters were evaluated using a mixed model.
Background: Current therapeutic interventions for dysesthesias caused by spinal cord dysfunctions are ineffective. We propose a novel intervention using transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for dysesthesias, and we present an in-depth case series.
Patients And Methods: Conventional high-frequency TENS and the novel dysesthesia-matched TENS (DM-TENS) were applied to 16 hands of nine patients with spinal cord dysfunction.
Vitreous temperature has been reported to vary during intraocular surgery. We measured the temperature at three intraocular sites, just posterior to the crystalline lens (BL), mid-vitreous (MV), and just anterior to the optic disc (OD), and investigated temperature changes before and after different types of surgical procedures in 78 eyes. The mean temperature at the beginning was 30.

Methods: This retrospective observational single-centre study included 57 consecutive patients with primary open-angle glaucoma who underwent unilateral glaucoma filtration surgery. The patients were divided into two groups according to the presence or absence of CD.
We assessed the bioequivalence of a single dose of 5-mg of esaxerenone administered as an orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) with the conventional oral tablet in healthy Japanese men. This single-center, open-label, randomized, two-drug, two-stage crossover, single-dose study was conducted in two parts. In study 1, both formulations were taken with water.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of transperineal ultrasound (TPUS)-guided pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) on prolonged UI after RARP. Thirty men with stress UI persisting for > 1 year after RARP underwent biofeedback PFMT using TPUS once every 2-3 weeks for 3 months.

Methods: Patients with end-stage HIC who underwent supratrigonal partial cystectomy with augmentation ileocystoplasty (PC-CP) or total cystectomy with ileal conduit (TC-IC) were identified retrospectively. Changes in the 11-point numerical rating scale of bladder pain and in 7-grade quality of life (QOL) scores were evaluated.
Purpose: Esaxerenone is a novel, oral, nonsteroidal treatment for hypertension. Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling was performed to predict the drug-drug interaction (DDI) effect of cytochrome P450 (CYP)3A modulators on esaxerenone pharmacokinetics in healthy subjects and subjects with hepatic impairment.
Methods: In our PBPK model, the fraction of esaxerenone metabolised by CYP3A was estimated from mass-balance data and verified and optimised by clinical DDI study results with strong CYP3A modulators.
