A new all-purpose bilateral cleft lip repair: Bilateral cheiloplasty suitable for most conditions.

Background: Only experienced surgeons can produce satisfactory results with most of the current surgical methods for bilateral cleft lip repair. The existing methods require not only preoperative orthodontic maneuvers but also accurate measurements for surgical design. We describe an easy-to-design and simple-to-execute general purpose surgical technique to repair most bilateral cleft lips.

Correction of inverted nipples with the double-track sun-cross running suture technique.

Various techniques have been reported for correcting inverted nipples; however, problems such as incomplete correction, recurrence, scarring and nerve or duct injury persist. To minimise the recurrence rate and reliably attain a well-projected nipple, we developed a technique involving a single suture that runs through both the periphery and the core of the nipple. After the dissection and release of fibrotic connective tissue, an absorbable monofilament suture was passed through the periphery and core to leave double tracks of the suture at all locations, creating the final shape of a cross inside a circle (resembling the sun-cross symbol).

Sliced Costochondral Chip Grafts in Posttraumatic Enophthalmos Correction.

Background: Posttraumatic enophthalmos is a relatively common problem following orbitozygomatic fractures. However, inadequate long-term results are frequently observed due to the difficulty of performing intraoperative fine adjustments to soft-tissue volume and orbital size and gradual absorption of some grafted materials. Here, the authors describe an efficient method of enophthalmos correction using sliced costochondral bone and cartilage combination grafts.
