Methodology: Ti commercially pure (cp-Ti) implants were installed bilaterally in the tibia of 64 Holtzman rats, divided into four experimental groups (n=16/group): (1) Machined surface - control (C); (2) Micro-nano textured surface treatment (MN); (3) Micro-nano textured surface with Sr2+ addition (MNSr); and (4) Micro-nano textured surface with a higher complementary addition of Sr2+ (MNSr+). In total, two experimental euthanasia periods were assessed at 15 and 45 days (n=8/period).

Patients were referred to the emergence attendance and the clinical examination revealed extensive laceration on the upper and lower lips of both patients, highly contaminated with asphalt residue. The affected regions were properly cleaned with saline and antiseptic solution, and, under local anesthesia, suturing was performed in layers in the muscle and oral mucosa region with 4-0 resorbable thread and in the skin region with 6-0 non-absorbable thread.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate peri-implant bone formation in rabbits after sinus grafting mediated by hydroxyapatite and beta-tricalcium phosphate (HA + β-TCP) in granule or paste configurations, concomitant with immediate implant installation.
Material & Methods: Thirty-four rabbit maxillary sinuses were grafted with HA + β-TCP, half of which were applied in a granule and half in a paste composition. Implant placement was performed simultaneously.

The primary outcomes of interest were the survival and success rates.

Despite the advances in the development of bone substitutes, autogenous bone graft remains the "criterion standard" because of its osteogenic, osteoinductive, osteoconductive potential, and non-immunogenic properties. However, harvesting of autogenous bone is not exempt from donor site morbidity.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of reusing drills and piezosurgery tips during implant osteotomy on immediate bone cell viability through immunohistochemical analysis.
Materials And Methods: Six male rabbits were divided into 2 groups and then divided into 5 subgroups-correspond to drills and tips used 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 times, respectively. All animals received 10 osteotomies in each tibia, by use of the classic drilling procedure in one group (G1) and the piezosurgery device in the other group (G2).
Facial fractures can be potentially fatal in polytraumatized patients due to retropositioning tissues to upper airway obstruction. In the first aids, this situation can be reversed using a tracheostomy procedure to break out the airways. However, fractures leading to airway obstruction are rare and according to Richards Classification can be classified into 5 types.
