Background: The health-related quality of life (HRQL) of people with food allergies should be evaluated to provide high-quality medical care. Currently, there is no available easy-to-use and reliable instrument for assessing HRQL clinically in Japan.
Methods: The Food Allergy Quality of Life Questionnaire 10 (FAQLQ10) in English was translated into Japanese, and this was referred to as the Japanese version of the Food Allergy Quality of Life Questionnaire 10 (FAQLQ10-J).
Background: Adult food-protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) has recently been recognized, and there are no international diagnostic criteria for this disease. Differentiating adult FPIES from immediate-type food allergy reactions and providing specific treatment for each in an emergency are important, but methods have not been developed.
Objective: To develop a diagnostic scoring system for adult FPIES by comparing it with an immediate-type food allergy (IgE-mediated food allergy [IgE-FA]).
Introduction: This study evaluated nutrient deficiencies in infants and toddlers with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders (EGIDs), whose primary nutritional source is elemental formulas (EFs).
Methods: The nutrient status of children with IBD and EGID aged 6 months to 6 years was evaluated.
Results: Twenty-one children fed with EFs (EF group) and 25 controls (CL group) were enrolled.
Background: Non-IgE-mediated gastrointestinal food allergies (non-IgE-GIFAs) seem to be increasing rapidly worldwide.
