Objective: Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone expressed in a variety of tumors and is correlated with advanced stage disease and poor prognosis. This study aimed to determine hCG expression immunohistochemically in endometrial specimens obtained from patients with normal endometrium, endometrial hyperplasia, and endometrial carcinoma, and to determine if there is a correlation between invasiveness and hCG positivity.

Methods: The histologic materials and medical records for patients diagnosed with normal endometrium, endometrial hyperplasia with/without atypia, and endometrial carcinoma between September 2017 and September 2020 were retrospectively reviewed.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to appraise the presence of Endometrial Carcinoma (EC) sequence in patients undergoing hysterectomy for Endometrial Hyperplasia (EH).

Material And Methods: Eighty-two patients undergoing hysterectomy with the indication of EH based on endometrial curettage between January 2009 and December 2013 were analyzed respectively All patients with a diagnosis of EH were investigated for age, parity history of diabetes mellitus and hypertension. The histopathology of the hysterectomy specimens were compared with their curettage specimens.

Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of FDG-PET/CT in the assessment of inguinofemoral lymph node (IFLN) in patients with vulvar cancer by comparing FDG-PET/CT results, sentinel lymph node (SLN) screening with gamma probe, and the results of frozen section and definitive pathology in these lymph nodes.

Study Design: This prospective study included eight patients, who were diagnosed with vulvar cancer at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of Erciyes University, Turkey. All patients underwent FDG-PET/CT before surgery.

Metformin has been shown to inhibit the growth of endometriotic implants, and reverse endometrial hyperplasia when combined with oral contraceptive in a case report. The aim of this study is to compare the antiproliferative effects of medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), and metformin in oopherectomized rat endometrium. Forty oopherectomized Wistar-Albino rats were used, and assigned to receive saline, 17 β Estradiol hemihydrate (4 mg/kg), 17 β Estradiol hemihydrate (4 mg/kg) and metformin (50 mg/kg), 17 β Estradiol hemihydrate (4 mg/kg) and MPA (1 mg/day) for 14 days.

Objective: To investigate the expression of the second form of GnRH (GnRH-II) in tumor tissue and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in malignant and benign ovarian tumors in humans.

Study Design: Sixty-six women were studied: 24 with epithelial ovarian carcinomas, 22 with benign ovarian tumors and 20 in the control group undergoing surgery. Malignant, benign and normal ovarian tissue and PBMCs were obtained for measurement of GnRH-II mRNA levels using quantitative real-time RT-PCR.

Background: The relationship between intrauterine device (IUD) use and anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) status has not been investigated yet. The aims of this study were to compare anti-HCV seropositivity between IUD users and nonusers and to determine whether IUD use is an independent risk factor for anti-HCV seropositivity.

Study Design: This cross-sectional study included 302 married women who used either an IUD (n=164) or did not use any form of modern contraception (n=138).

Aims: The aims of the present study were to determine the serum concentrations of insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I), insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3) and leptin and insulin resistance in benign and malignant epithelial ovarian tumors, and to discuss the use of these markers in benign-malignant tumor differentiation.

Methods: Forty-seven postmenopausal women with ovarian tumor and 31 age-matched, postmenopausal, healthy controls were included in this study. Insulin resistance index by homeostasis model assessment (HOMA score) and fasting blood glucose (FBG), serum IGF-I, IGFBP-3, leptin and CA-125 concentrations were determined in all patients preoperatively.

Antenatal sonographic diagnosis of rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata depends on recognization of the combination of rhizomelic bone shortening and epiphyseal stippling. This is the only report of prenatal ultrasonographic diagnosis of bilateral cataracts in a fetus with rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata (type 1). Also, this is the first report of severe rhizomelic limb shortening, and bilateral cataracts prior to the recognization of epiphyseal stippling.
