In this study with the intent to segment phonocardiography (PCG) recordings, an algorithm that processes a feature vector obtained by jointly using wavelet transform and mel scaled energy spectrum of the PCG signal is proposed. The feature vector is processed by a peak detection algorithm which results in a set of peaks that meet some certain criteria and will be exploited in the succeeding stages of the algorithm. Heart sounds are labeled by convolving circularly a template and a fragment of the feature vector which is picked up with the guidance of the peaks.

By expanding regional psychosocial and psychiatric-psychotherapeutic care structures and adapting psychiatric routine care to refugees' needs, the state-funded project "refuKey" based in Lower Saxony, Germany, pursues to ease access to mental health care and increase service quality for refugees. A stepped-care treatment model along with intercultural opening of mental health care services is proposed.

Arriving refugees are distributed to reception centers within the German federal states, frequently facing marginal conditions in terms of overcrowding or waiting time of several months until their application for asylum is processed. Most of these refugees underwent numerous traumatizing experiences-both in their country of origin and while fleeing from their country of origin.

Materials And Methods: We assessed 112 consecutive patients, from April 2007 to August 2007, who were referred for combined CT pulmonary angiography and indirect CT venography for clinically suspected acute PE. CT scanning was performed with a 64x0.
Objective: The objective of the study was to compare two scoring methods to predict the risk of pulmonary embolism (PE) as diagnosed with computed tomography angiography (CTA) and/or CT venography (CTV).
Methods: Prospectively over a 8-month period, emergency department patients and hospital inpatients with suspected PE were consecutively examined and their Wells and Revised Geneva scores calculated to stratify them into a risk group for PE probability. Then all patients were examined with CTA and CTV to determine the presence or absence of PE, as diagnosed by experienced radiology staff physicians.
Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the role of vitamin B(12) in patients with pernicious anemia.
Materials And Methods: This study was conducted prospectively at the Turgut Ozal Medical Center, Department of Hematology, between April and November 2002. Absolute numbers and ratio of the surface antigens of T and B lymphocyte subgroups, CD4/CD8 ratio were calculated in order to evaluate changes in leukocyte and lymphocyte numbers; natural killer (NK) cell count, serum C3, C4, and levels of immunoglobulins G, A, and M were also measured to evaluate vitamin B(12) effect on immunity.
