Traumatic posterior atlantoaxial dislocation (TPAD) without an associated fracture is a rare and challenging spinal injury. This PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses)-compliant case-based systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to comprehensively explore TPAD, covering clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and clinical and radiological outcomes. Following the presentation of a case of TPAD without an associated fracture, we conducted a systematic search of electronic databases, including Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science, from inception through October 2023, without language restrictions.

Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) induces severe immunosuppression in chickens, leading to significant economic losses in the global poultry industry. This study investigated 52 chicken flocks, including commercial broilers, layers, and baladi, from various Egyptian governorates in 2023. Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a lethal human pathogen, with the key flavoenzyme for catalyzing bacterial cell-wall biosynthesis, decaprenylphosphoryl-D-ribose oxidase (DprE1), considered an Achilles heal for tuberculosis (TB) progression. Inhibition of DprE1 blocks cell wall biosynthesis and is a highly promising antitubercular target. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) was the first tumor virus identified in humans, and it is mostly linked to lymphomas and cancers of epithelial cells. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to examine the potential of the RuC nanosheet as a biosensor towards the aromatic amino acids (AAA; tryptophan (TRP), histidine (HIS), tyrosine (TYR), and phenylalanine (PHE)). The AAA molecules were placed vertically and horizontally with respect to the RuC surface and then subjected to geometrical relaxation. According to the geometry relaxation results, it was found that all AAA molecules preferred to be adsorbed on the RuC surface in a horizontal configuration rather than a vertical one, except the HIS molecule, which desired to be vertically adsorbed on the RuC nanosheet.

Two new sesquiterpenes; 8α,11-dihydroxy-β-cyperon (2), and 5-epi-7α-hydroxy-( +)-oplopanone (3), were isolated from the soft coral Litophyton arboreum, together with nine known ones, including five sesquiterpenes; 11-hydroxy-8-oxo-β-cyperon (1), alismoxide (4), 5β,8β-epidioxy-11-hydroxy-6-eudesmene (5), chabrolidione B (6), 7-oxo-tri-nor-eudesm-5-en-4β-ol (7), two sterols; 7β-acetoxy-24-methyl-cholesta-5,24(28)-diene-3β,19-diol (8), nebrosteroid M (9), and two glycerol derivatives; chimyl alcohol (10) and batyl alcohol (11). The structures of the isolated compounds were characterized using spectroscopic techniques, predominately HR-ESI-MS, 1D, 2D-NMR, and ECD analyses. Compounds 1-11 were evaluated for their cytotoxic activity against three human cancer-cell lines (A549, MCF-7 and HepG2), and anti-leishmanial potential against the causal parasite, Leishmania major.
