The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the feeding of green nanoparticles of silver (Nano-Ag), probiotics, and their combination on hatchability, carcass criteria and internal organs, biochemical parameters, and cecal microbial populations in hatched one-day-old chicks. On day 18 of incubation, 250 live embryo eggs were weighed and randomly assigned to one of five treatment groups: a negative control group, a positive control group consisting of chicks injected with 0.2 mL physiological saline, a group consisting of chicks injected with 0.

Article Synopsis
  • * High temperatures negatively impact the growth and productivity of poultry, leading to substantial economic losses that are likely to escalate with ongoing global warming.
  • * Strategies to combat these challenges include exploring thermal acclimation during critical stages of chicken development and understanding the molecular mechanisms behind thermal conditioning, with a focus on nutritional management and vitagene regulation to enhance poultry resilience.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigated the effects of early injection of different forms of copper on the small intestine and growth of newly hatched chicks, using 462 fertile eggs divided into seven groups.
  • Results showed that copper sulfate and acetate significantly enhanced gut histological features and body weight gain compared to the control group, while improvements in feed conversion were not significant.
  • The findings suggest that injecting 16 μg of copper per egg is more beneficial than 8 μg for promoting growth and gut development in broiler chicks.

The effects that maternal dietary methionine have on progeny have been reported on broilers. However, the paternal effects are not known, so the current study was conducted to explore the influences of paternal dietary methionine (Met) have on progeny carcass traits, meat quality, and related gene expressions. A total of 192 hens and 24 roosters from Ross parent stock at 36 weeks of age were selected.

Bifidobacterium is one of the most promising probiotics which was recently used as an alternative growth promoter in poultry. This trial was considered to evaluate the potential effects of in ovo administration of Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium longum on growth performance and biochemical parameters of broilers. Three hundred broiler breeder eggs were incubated and candled individually at day 17 of embryogenesis; then, eggs that had live embryos were randomly divided into six groups.
