Unfortunately, viruses cause about 80% of respiratory tract infections, and up to 75% of antibiotics are prescribed for URTIs. Overuse of antibiotics is linked to a number of issues, including the emergence of antibacterial resistance, an increase in the prevalence of chronic illnesses, a rise in the expense of healthcare services, and the emergence of side effects.
