Early-life maternal deprivation in rats increases sensitivity to the subsequent stressors: a pilot study.

Early life experiences, particularly maternal deprivation (MD), have long-lasting implications on emotional and cognitive development. Using Wistar rats as a model, this study explores the impact of MD followed by predator stress exposure (PSS) to simulate aspects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A cohort of 41 male rat pups underwent MD from postnatal days 2 to 14, followed by PSS at day 90.

Cutaneous human papillomavirus type 5 (HPV5) belongs to the supposedly oncogenic β-HPVs associated with specific types of skin and oral cavity cancers. Three viral proteins, namely, helicase E1 and transcription factors E2 and E8^E2, are master regulators of the viral life cycle. HPV5 E2 is a transcriptional activator that also participates in the E1-dependent replication and nuclear retention of the viral genome, whereas E8^E2 counterbalances the activity of E2 and inhibits HPV transcription and replication.

Somatic burden in Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Somatic burden has become one of the most common psychological reactions to the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide. This study examined the prevalence of somatic burden, latent profiles, and associated factors of somatic symptoms during the pandemic in a large sample of Russians. We used cross-sectional data from 10,205 Russians collected during October-December, 2021.

Seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies in Symptomatic Individuals Is Higher than in Persons Who Are at Increased Risk Exposure: The Results of the Single-Center, Prospective, Cross-Sectional Study.

The present study aimed to assess antibody seropositivity prevalence among symptomatic individuals and individuals with a high risk of occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2. Participants from Chelyabinsk (Russian Federation) who were at an increased risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2 (high-risk group, = 1091) and participants who either had symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or were suspected to have experienced COVID-19 in the past (symptomatic group, = 692) were enrolled between 28 September and 30 December 2020. Blood samples were tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay D-5501 SARS-Cov-2-IgG-EIA-BEST and D-5502 SARS-Cov-2-IgM-EIA-BEST (AO Vector-Best, Novosibirsk, Russia).

Offensive Behavior, Striatal Glutamate Metabolites, and Limbic-Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Responses to Stress in Chronic Anxiety.

Variations in anxiety-related behavior are associated with individual allostatic set-points in chronically stressed rats. Actively offensive rats with the externalizing indicators of sniffling and climbing the stimulus and material tearing during 10 days of predator scent stress had reduced plasma corticosterone, increased striatal glutamate metabolites, and increased adrenal 11-dehydrocorticosterone content compared to passively defensive rats with the internalizing indicators of freezing and grooming, as well as to controls without any behavioral changes. These findings suggest that rats that display active offensive activity in response to stress develop anxiety associated with decreased allostatic set-points and increased resistance to stress.

[Results of stomach resection by Billroth II with compression gastroenteroanastomosis].

Two methods of resection of the stomach by Billroth II were developed with creation of transversal termino-lateral gastroenteroanastomosis (TTLGEA) and transversal latero-lateral gastroenteroanastomosis (TLLGEA) using compression implant from nickel-titan alloy which possessed "memory of the form" (IMF). 231 resections of the stomach by Billroth II were carried out with formation TTLGEA in 181 cases and TLLGEA in 50 cases.
