The photovoltaic properties of five different mono-azo function and meso-tetraphenyl porphyrin dyes have been investigated by computational DFT/TDDFT calculations and measurement of the J-V properties of their cells. The photovoltaic efficiency of the cells based on these dyes were determined by both experimental and theoretical methods. The efficiency-to-cost ratios of the azo-dye cells showed that they could be cheaper substitutes to porphyrin-based cells.

Our study examined the trends and factors affecting non-utilization of modern contraceptives over a 10-year period in Ekiti State, Nigeria.
Methodology: This study used data from three consecutive National Demographic Health Surveys (NDHS) - 2008, 2013, and 2018 - with a weighted sample size of 1,357 women of reproductive age (15-49 years).
Background: Fear of losing psychological resources can lead to stress, impacting psychological health and behavioral outcomes like burnout, absenteeism, service sabotage, and turnover.
Objective: The study examined the impact of job stressors (time pressure, role ambiguity, role conflict) on employee well-being and turnover intentions. The study also investigated the mediating role of employee well-being between job stressors and turnover intention based on the conservation of resources (COR) theory.
The objective of this study was to compare the effectiveness of buffered and non-buffered local anaesthetic (LA) following inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB). It is at play since the emergence of clinical psychology and its application in the recruitment process during World War I and II. Change in personality assessment trends, the evolution of complex personality traits, and changing geopolitical settings across the world necessitate the development of cost-effective, time-efficient, and reliable assessment measures that overcome issues in current assessment measures and fulfil the needs of present timesOBJECTIVE:The objective of this paper is to explore the evolution of personality assessment measures and their uses in military settings along with the comparison of self-report and non-self-report measures.

This study estimated and compared the COI of NCDs and its predictors in private and public health facilities (HF) in Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.
Methods: the study was carried out in selected HF (39 private; 11 public) using a comparative cross-sectional design with a mixed method of data collection.

Background: Wound closure techniques affect the severity of inflammatory complications that ensue following surgical extraction of the impacted mandibular third molar (M3). The choice of the technique remains a topic for discussion because reports regarding their associated sequelae are split. This study therefore compares the pain, swelling and trismus in the complete closure and the sutureless/non-closure techniques.

Some surgical procedures are associated with minimal bleeding that does not warrant blood transfusion. No previous study has looked at the pattern of blood loss in noma defect repair to determine the possible need for blood transfusion.

A 60-year-old male presented to the emergency department with acute change in mental status while recovering from a recent hemicraniectomy. During evaluation by the emergency physician, a point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) was performed using the patient's existing craniectomy site as a sonographic window. Multiple areas of intracranial hemorrhage were visualized on POCUS and head computed tomography scan ultimately requiring urgent neurosurgical intervention.

The need for starch to meet the ever-increasing industrial applications and its inherent problems in the native state have led to researches into unconventional starch sources and starch modifications, respectively. In this study, starch was isolated from African breadfruit kernels and modified to produce acetylated, AC, oxidized, OX, and acid-thinned, AT, starches. The effects of modifications on the native starch, NA, were examined through physicochemical, pasting, morphological and thermal properties.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFPalliative care is recommended for patients with life-limiting illnesses; however, there are few standardized protocols for outpatient palliative care visits. To address the paucity of data, this article aims to: (1) describe the elements of outpatient palliative care that are generalizable across clinical sites; (2) achieve consensus about standardized instruments used to assess domains within outpatient palliative care; and (3) develop a protocol and intervention checklist for palliative care clinicians to document outpatient visit elements that might not normally be recorded in the electronic heath record. As part of a randomized control trial of nurse-led telephonic case management versus specialty, outpatient palliative care in older adults with serious life-limiting illnesses in the Emergency Department, we assessed the structural characteristics of outpatient care clinics across nine participating health care systems.
