Article Synopsis
  • The WHO is creating a Package of Eye Care Interventions (PECI) to integrate eye care into universal health coverage, focusing on evidence-based practices for uveitis from clinical practice guidelines (CPGs).
  • A systematic review identified 56 potentially relevant CPGs on uveitis from 2010 to March 2020, but only 3 CPGs met the criteria for data extraction after appraising their quality with the AGREE II tool.
  • The reviewed CPGs addressed specific aspects of uveitis treatment and management, but there is limited guidance available, reflecting the complexity of uveitis, which may hinder clinicians looking for effective care strategies.
