Introduction: Many Covid-19 survivors are living with unresolved, relapsing and remitting symptoms and no 'one size' of treatment is likely to be effective for everyone. Supported self-management for the varied symptoms of Long Covid (LC) is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in the United Kingdom. We aimed to develop a new personalised support intervention for people living with LC using a structured co-design framework to guide replication and evaluation.

Background: Around one in ten people who contract Covid-19 report ongoing symptoms or 'Long Covid'. Without any known interventions to cure the condition, forms of self-management are routinely prescribed by healthcare professionals and described by people with the condition. However, there is limited research exploring what strategies are used to navigate everyday life with Long Covid, and experiences that initiate development of these strategies.

An efficient approach for the synthesis of a model of the ABC ring system of Hemibrevetoxin B is described. Key features include a ring expansion to yield the ring C oxepane, the reduction of a 2-furyl ketone with high levels of 1,3-stereocontrol, and an Achmatowicz oxidative ring expansion to yield the ring A tetrahydropyran. All seven stereogenic centers present in the model compound were controlled with high levels (>98:<2) of diastereoselectivity.

The Garner aldehyde-derived methylene alkene 5 and the corresponding benzyloxycarbonyl compound 25 undergo hydroboration with 9-BBN-H followed by palladium-catalyzed Suzuki coupling reactions with aryl and vinyl halides. After one-pot hydrolysis-oxidation, a range of known and novel nonproteinogenic amino acids were isolated as their N-protected derivatives. These novel organoborane homoalanine anion equivalents are generated and transformed under mild conditions and with wide functional group tolerance: electron-rich and -poor aromatic iodides and bromides (and a vinyl bromide) all undergo efficient Suzuki coupling.
