Administration of longidaza at a dose of 3000 IU intramuscularly twice a week after 1 month of treatment leads to the statistically significant reduction of antisperm antibodies (ASAB) at the surface of sperm cells to 23% (7-48%) for MARIgG and to 14.5% (3-34%) for MARIgA. Maximum reduction of ASAB, however, was observed after third month of treatment, mean MARIgG was 2% (1-26,5%) and MARIgA - 1% (0-11.

The role of the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), a ubiquitous lymphotropic human herpesvirus type 4, in the etiology of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is not fully understood. The mechanism of NPC carcinogenesis, associated with the virus, is also not clear. The objective of present investigation was to carry out comparative analysis of the structure of an LMP1 oncogene of EBV in viral isolates obtained from patients with two types of tumors of the oral cavity: (a) associated (i.

Plant pathogenic yeast were isolated from infected weeds that occur in cereal crops. On the basis of morphological, physiological and biochemical properties the yeast isolated from sow thistle and dandelion have been identified as Rhodosporidium diobovatum Newell & Hunter and Rhodotorula sp. In the experiment the yeast caused pathological process on the weeds, from which they are isolated, on other types of weeds, but also on wheat, oat and soybean.

The study is dedicated to research of phytotoxic properties of Ralstonia solanacearum lipopolysaccharides. This causative agent is one of the most dangerous among potato bacterial diseases. It is revealed that the inhibitory effect of LPS solution on seedlings germination is more noticeable on crops susceptible to brown rot.

To examine the relationship I/D polymorphism of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene and polymorphism A1166S of angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT2R1) gene with the development of atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), the residents of Kharkiv region. The study involved 318 patients with CAD, of whom 54 (17,0%) patients with CHD and AF were included in group I, 264 (93,0%) patients without AF - in group II. The control group included 35 people without atherosclerotic and morphological changes of spacecraft.

Histological, morphometric and histochemical analysis of the mucous membrane of the jejunum was performed in 40 adult male rats after alcohol intoxication of 2,4 and 6 month duration. It was shown that alcohol intoxication for 2 months resulted in mucosal hypertrophy of the jejunum with a significant increase in the number of goblet cells. After 4 months, there was a tendency for the inhibition of the mitotic activity of enterocytes with the decrease of their regeneration activity.

The effect of ethanol on the bioamin containing structures of the jejunum and ileum walls at different periods of chronic alcoholic intoxication was investigated. The quantitative description of the catecholamine and serotonin content in the enterocytes of epithelial lining villi, submucosa mast cells, crypt enterocytes and muscle membrane is given for the first time by means of luminescent microscopy and cyto spectrofluorimetry. It was established that in the initial period of chronic alcohol intoxication for 60 days in rats increased serotonin effect on intestinal functional structures was observed.

Bacterial diseases of weeds horsetail common (Equisetum arvense L.) were revealed in the crops of wheat and soya in the fields of Kyiv and Vinnitsia Regions of Ukraine. The distinctive symptoms of bacterial affections on the root neck, on stalks of vegetative and spore shoots, on twigs were brown, dark brown or almost black necrotic spots of oblong form.

The effect of chronic alcohol intoxication of 2, 4 and 6 months' duration on the morpho-functional state of the ileum was studied in male rats (n = 36) using histological, morphometric and histochemical methods. The results show that alcohol intoxication for a period of 2 months induced the changes in the mucous membrane of the ileum which in the form of its hypertrophy accompanied by the increase of epitheliocyte mitotic activity and goblet cell number. The activity of succinate dehydrogenase in the enterocytes and muscular tunic myocytes of the ileum wall was increased.

Using the methods of luminescent microscopy and cytospectrofluorometry, biogenic amine-containing structures were studied in colon of rats subjected to alcohol intoxication of 2, 4 and 6 months' duration. It was demonstrated that 2- and 4-month-long alcohol intoxication of animals resulted in biogenic amine content increase in the mucosal surface epithelium, submucosal mast cells and adrenergic nerve fibers within the connective tissue bands in the muscular tunic. At the same time, 6 month-long intoxication was accompanied by a stabilization of bioamine content at the elevated level.

The investigation was undertaken to study the molecular characteristics of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) LMP1 gene samples amplified from the tumor and intact tissues of patients with EBV-negative forms of gastric carcinoma (GC). The genetic structure of these samples determined by their sequencing was compared with that of the gene samples isolated from the cells of oropharyngeal washing specimens from the same patients with GC, as well as peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with infectious mononucleosis (IM) and blood donors. The findings suggest that the samples of tumor tissue LMP1 from patients with GC have higher divergence than those from patients with IM and blood donors although no specific variants of the gene for GC were found.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is an etiological agent of a number of benign and malignant human diseases, such as infectious mononucleosis (IM), Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL), and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). EBV latent membrane protein 1 (LMP1) gene (recognized as a viral oncoprotein) of various clinical and geographical origin was found to have different types of amino acid mutations affecting its biological activity. Since there was no information on the strain differences in LMP1 of EBV persisting in Russia, the authors made a sequence analysis of LMP1 samples amplified from the biological materials of Russian patients with IM, HL, and NHL and healthy individuals.

The correlation between DRB1, DQA1, and DQB1 genes of HLA class II, and the development of germ cell tumors (GCTs), as well as serological response to HERV-K proteins were investigated. Genomic DNA prepared from 99 GST patients was subjected to HLA typing by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using the set of sequence specific primers (PCR-SSP). This set of primers made it possible to detect 14 specificities of DRB 1 locus, 12 alleles and groups of alleles of DQB 1 locus, and 8 alleles of DQA1 locus.
