[The effect of antibiotic therapy on the immune status of patients with nonspecific lung diseases complicated by pleural empyema].

The immunity status was studied in patients with acute pyo-destructive lung diseases complicated by purulent pleurisy (relative counts of T- and B-lymphocytes, subpopulation composition of T-cells, numbers of lymphocytes-killers, and functional state of neutrophils of the peripheral blood). These patients revealed significant cellular immunodeficiency, rise in B-lymphocytes, and apparent changes in the activity of the peripheral blood phagocytes. The endolymphatic drug route was found out to be superior to conventional ones in that it had more expressed normalizing action on the quantitative and functional state of T-lymphocytes, their subpopulation composition (manifested by augmentation of T-cells-helpers), as well as on the level of B-lymphocytes, lymphocytes-killers, and metabolic activity of neutrophils of the peripheral blood.

[The reasons for the application of endolymphatic therapy in the treatment of purulent lung diseases, complicated by empyema of the pleura].

Klaforan pharmacodynamics was studied up in pleural exudate and blood serum of the patients with purulent-destructive pulmonary diseases after its single endolymphatic and intravenous introduction in the dose 60 mg/kg of the body mass. Convalescence frequency in control group was 61.6%, in principal-82.

[Endolymphatic introduction of preparations and surgical treatment of patients with wide spread destructive lung tuberculosis].

Comparative analysis of application effectiveness of endolymphatic and conventional ways of preparations introduction at the time of preoperative schedule and the patients treatment with a wide spread destructive lung tuberculosis was conducted an original schemes of endolymphatic therapy application before and early after the operation are adduced. Endolymphatic application of preparations permitted to reduce the postoperative pleural empyema with bronchial fistula occurrence by 20.1%, without bronchial fistula-by 4.

[Problems of diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary thesaurismosis].

The paper concerns rare forms of pulmonary thesaurismosis which are a frequent cause of misdiagnosis: 5 cases of alveolar proteinosis and 1 with alveolar microlithiasis are reported. Lung biopsy (open or transbronchial) is indicated for verification of the diagnosis. Further investigations to try radical therapy of the disease are needed in view of short-term effects of commonly used bronchoalveolar lavage, endolymphatic chymotrypsin in combination with heparin.

[Administration of medications via a lymphatic vessel in the treatment of diffuse peritonitis and sepsis].

Endolymphatic infusions of an antibacterial complex (antibiotic--lysozyme--proteinase inhibitor) resulted in recovery of 92,6% of patients after a complex treatment of diffuse peritonitis and sepsis. Gauze-sorbent tampons used in empyema of pleura give rapid cleaning of the cavity walls from pyo-necrotic masses and decreased the activity of the inflammatory process.

[Clinico-laboratory basis for the endolymphatic use of beta-lactam antibiotics in pulmonology].

Clinical efficacy and effect of cefuroxime, claforan and pentrexyl used endolymphatically were studied in 85 patients with acute abscess forming and persisting pneumonia. Previous routine antibiotic therapy in these patients was little effective. Administration of the antibiotics into the peripheral lymph nodes provided blocking of the lymphagenic pathway for the infection due to high levels in the lymphatic system.
