This paper presents a georeferenced optimal planning model of a rural distribution network for deploying an underground network considering a real scenario for increasing electrification in this area. A model is presented based on a heuristic process that minimizes the resources required to route the grid for a defined time horizon. Then, the model is scalable according to the population density, the established and georeferenced zone, and the specified period; that is, it adjusts to any of these variables.

The present work proposes to locate harmonic frequencies that distort the fundamental voltage and current waves in electrical systems using the compressed sensing (CS) technique. With the compressed sensing algorithm, data compression is revolutionized, a few samples are taken randomly, a measurement matrix is formed, and according to a linear transformation, the signal is taken from the time domain to the frequency domain in a compressed form. Then, the inverse linear transformation is used to reconstruct the signal with a few sensed samples of an electrical signal.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is an aggressive cancer with a highly inflammatory microenvironment and liquid biopsy has emerged as a promising tool for the noninvasive analysis of this tumor. In this study, plasma was obtained from 58 metastatic PDAC patients, and neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) concentration, and circulating RAS mutation were determined. We found that NLR was significantly associated with both overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival.

This research proposes a high-performance algorithm for the compression rate of electrical power quality signals, using wavelet transformation. To manage the massive amount of data the telecommunications networks are constantly acquiring it is necessary to study techniques for data compression, which will save bandwidth and reduce costs extensively by avoiding having massive data storage facilities. First biorthogonal wavelet level six transform is applied, however after compression, the reconstructed signal will have a different amplitude and it will be shifted when compared to the original one.

Gamma secretase inhibitors (GSIs), initially developed as Alzheimer's therapies, have been repurposed as anticancer agents given their inhibition of Notch receptor cleavage. The success of GSIs in preclinical models has been ascribed to induction of cancer stem-like cell differentiation and apoptosis, while also impairing epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition and sensitizing cells to traditional chemoradiotherapies. The promise of these agents has yet to be realized in the clinic, however, as GSIs have failed to demonstrate clinical benefit in most solid tumors with the notable exceptions of CNS malignancies and desmoid tumors.

A nonblind clinical study was carried out by administering Lorazepam at a low dosage to patients with a light to moderate state of reactive anxiety. The drug was shown to be effective in the management of the target symptoms studied: anorexia, sleep induction, rhythm, and duration disturbances, depression, irritability and moodiness, fatigue, anxiety and tension, somatic anxiety, social adaptation. The results obtained are practically identical to those reported in the literature for higher doses.
