Background: The accuracy of Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC) mappings is reportedly low, and the LOINC codes used for research purposes in Korea have not been validated for accuracy or usability. Our study aimed to evaluate the discrepancies and similarities in interoperability using existing LOINC mappings in actual patient care settings.
Methods: We collected data on local test codes and their corresponding LOINC mappings from seven university hospitals.
Griselimycin, a cyclic depsidecapeptide produced by Streptomyces griseus, is a promising lead inhibitor of the sliding clamp component of bacterial DNA polymerases (β-subunit of Escherichia coli DNA pol III). It was previously shown to inhibit the Mycobacterium tuberculosis β-clamp with remarkably high affinity and selectivity - the peptide lacks any interaction with the human sliding clamp. Here, we used a structural genomics approach to address the prospect of broader-spectrum inhibition, in particular of β-clamps from Gram-negative bacterial targets.

In addition, 99m Tc-MIBI can also be used for imaging various tumors due to its unique mechanism of intracellular accumulation. Here, we introduced a case of a single 99m Tc-MIBI SPECT/CT simultaneously visualized two different malignant tumors, such as papillary thyroid cancer and small cell lung cancer, along with a parathyroid adenoma in a patient with hyperparathyroidism.

Methods: Gastric cancer patients undergoing elective gastrectomies were identified in 2014-2019 NSQIP datasets (n = 1,438).
