A multicenter randomized post-registration control-comparative trial included 94 patients with relapsing-remitting and secondary-progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) in the acute phase. Patients were stratified into 2 groups: patients of group 1 (n=53) received cytoflavin and basic treatment (trental and group B vitamins) and patients of group 2 (n=41) received only basic treatment. Based on the results of the 5-day treatment, each of these groups was stratified into 2 subgroups: patients of subgroup 1A (n=22) who demonstrated a positive effect continued to receive cytoflavin and basic treatment; subgroup 1B (n=31) received corticosteroids (metipred) as an add-on in the pulse- treatment regime; group 2A (n=14) continued to receive basic treatment due to the positive effect; group 2B (n=27) received corticosteroids as an add-on in the pulse-treatment regime.

The study of changes in the immune status of patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis demonstrated changes in immunological parameters reflecting depression of the immune system (subnormal levels of interferon alpha, gamma, sIgA, functional activity of neutrophils, high concentration of IgA, IgG, IgM). Thus, combined treatment of chronic bacterial prostatitis must include administration of immunomodulators.

A computer database was created to take care of a wide range of protocols for combined treatment of Hodgkin's disease stage I-IV (n=1,573). Early-onset radiation-related injuries (pneumonitis) and exposure of lung tissues to radiation were identified as the main risk factors for cardiopathology development. It is suggested that total focal dosage used after chemotherapy be reviewed since total dosage for the entire lymph collector in excess of 30 Gy might contribute to hazards of cardiopathology.

Our study has demonstrated that compound medicine vitaprost plus in therapy of chronic bacterial prostatitis (CBP) reduces intensity of prostatic inflammation, significantly relieves symptoms of chronic prostatitis and pain syndrome. The absence of unwanted side effects, significant changes in clinical and biochemical blood and urine parameters evidences for good tolerance and safety of the drug. Thus, rectal suppositories vitaprost plus can be recommended for treatment of chronic bacterial prostatitis caused by both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria in patients of different age and clinical symptoms.

Active substance of vitaprost is a complex of water-soluble biologically active peptides isolated from bovine prostate. The prostatic extract has an organotropic action in relation to the prostate. As all peptide bioregulators, prostatic extract has antiaggregant and anticoagulant properties, enhances synthesis of antihistamine and antiserotonine antibodies, improves microcirculation in the prostatic gland.
